How about donating to some campaigns to share the burden like this one or this one?

Obviously disregard this if you're struggling with finances, this is more for those who were fortunate enough to be born in this country maybe to relatively well-off parents. As with all fundraisers, if we all just donated £10, you know how it goes.

I was with you until the "really expensive application fee," and which point ALL OF MY ALARMS started blaring.

Honey, this is a scam. It's a clever one, in that they're aping an actual legit business. But anyone who asks you for a high application fee (with VERY few exceptions including the civil service exam) is scamming you. I'm so sorry, but I don't think you should proceed with the application.

So far I’ve only gotten $100, and I had to use part of that for cat litter and cat food, but the one place I was able to put an application into I doubt we will be approved because I have no way to prove my income. Still, it was worth trying.

However! I got accepted to a Facebook group for people looking for rentals in North San Diego County and I got directed to a website to check out, so I’ve listed myself looking for an entire place as a tenant for $1.4 a month, so maybe I’ll get some bites? But yeah. Tomorrow the plan is to go to the library and look through more listings I’ve saved, see if there’s any that interest my mother, but she’s depressed and putting it all on me and I’m having flare-ups in my chronic fatigue so this is not a good situation.

Any help with finding a place in North San Diego County that will allow for two bedrooms with cats for the above amount to $1.6K at most would be a great help, as would help getting funds together for a down payment and application fees at various apartment complexes. Also, as an aside: I m unexpectedly getting my son for a week (!) on Sunday since his adoptive mother is going out of town, and my $65 in food stamps barely got anything for us aside from some stuff for Thanksgiving. I love my child, but he’s a human tapeworm, so any help with Walmart or Safeway giftcards would be amazing so he won’t starve while he’s with us. Thank you in advance!
