Oh, I know exactly what you meant. And I know you’re exceptionally bright and intuitive. But let’s look at the way you worded the rhetorical question - as a blind idiot.

Idiot is actually a slur for somebody with mental disorders or learning disabilities. Tons of people don’t know that. Even though you are highly intelligent, there are people that will think of you as having less intellect and capacity for reasoning simply because of your age. TBH, if I had met you in person instead of online, that would have been one of my first reactions (because I’m literally twice your age and then some, so I know better and you don’t have life experience, bla bla bla). Which was your complaint here.

Blind… in the intuitive sense (which did not come across in my response, my fault). As people age, there is a tendency to become more jaded to the world. Less intuitive. Less able to see things as they really are, and more as how the are compared to decades of experiences. That’s where you get all the “back in my day” stories - people age and forget how to see new things. You are still able to see things in a new light, and in a way that many older people would never think to look at life. That doesn’t make you any more or less ignorant (as a general rule - there are a few things that age honestly does help with) than the people looking down on you for your age. In fact, the idea that they are looking down on you makes them blind to what you can do.
