They only put “the" in front of freeway names in SoCal, but since that’s where movies/TV shows are made, a lot of characters supposedly from other areas end up saying it. But nobody puts the “I" in front anywhere, do they??
I say "I-5" but maybe I'm weird. Where I grew up, everyone said "I-20" "I-30", etc. I lived in SoCal for a while when I was a kiddo and too young to drive, so I probably just never noticed the way people referred to freeways. I figured that "the I-5" was the result of a Californian writer, though. This show is in serious need of Seattle-based consultants.

I used to get bronchitis every year, and then I discovered sinus rinses/neti pots. Worth a try if you haven’t already, they seriously changed my life.
