JOKE-OGRAPHY: 1. St. Augustine was from a place called Hippo.  Jim Burke made the connection between the place named Hippo and the animals featured in the  "Hungry Hungry Hippos" children's game, and I ran with it. 2. The pears are a reference to St. Augustine's story from his youth where he and his friends stole pears from a neighbor's tree.  He uses that story to illustrate the nature of sin.  I use it as a replacement for the small white marbles that are apparently a big part of a normal hippo's diet. 3. St. Augustine has a quote that goes something like, "Our hearts are restless until they rest in [God]."  I paraphrased the first part of the quote to fit the board game, turning it into, "My stomach is restless."  It essentially has the same meaning as the original sentence, just with different organs, objects of desire, and meaning.
