hey! so i need another subject test for when i apply to college (which is looming scarily closer) and i was wondering, if i've gotten 4s on both ap english tests, i'd be able to get a 700 or above on the sat literature test? also, if i take a semester of college physics (dual enrollment, not ap) will that prepare me for the sat physics? I'd do some studying on my own ofc, but just as a baseline. thanks!
updates about my life
- I graduated with my Associateās Degree in General Studies on May 4 - I graduated with my high school diploma on May 21 - I got assigned to Crandall Hall in the Harriet Tubman Quadrangle (my dorm of choice). - Move in day is August 11 so expect hella pictures and maybe even my first YouTube video. - Howard swears up and down that we canāt request roommates but the girl Iāve decided to be roommates with (Bryanna aka Bry, pronounced like Bree, will most likely be mentioned again lol) and I emailed the residence hall manager and she approved us to be roommates!! - Iām currently writing for Fresh U. Itās a publication for college freshmen, by college freshmen so expect lots of links to my articles for y'all to read!!

hey appblr! looking for some advice. so i got a 32 on my act in april which i was thrilled about! it was my second time (first time i got a 29) and i was thinking i would take it again in september (iām a junior right now). iām aiming for top-tier schools and hoping to get merit money, and i think if i studied over the summer i could get a 33 and maybe even a 34. do you guys think itās worth spending the time over the summer to study? iām leaning towards doing it since i feel like the difference between a 32 and a 33/34 is a big one, but idk. let me know what you guys think?

I'm glad you chose to go to berkeley! I think you can handle four years of it, you seem really smart and determined. I didn't say anything before because you have to go to the school that's right for you personally, but berkeley is amazing. I get you were sad about stanford and usc but getting into a school with a 16.9% acceptance rate is pretty impressive, so congrats :) and good luck!

but you know i really love how you said you didnāt say anything, because i should go to a school thatās right for me personally, because i believe in that concept too! as in, i feel like people view the same college differently and have differing experiences because of who they are & their character/personality c:
tbh iām still kind of scared of berkeley, in terms of like feeling Inferior, because everyone is so amazing and are so talented and are doing great things with their lives ahhh i just have to learn to be happy with what iām doing, how i am, and to be the best that i can beĀ (this will take some conscious mental training though oof)

Hi there!! Just wanted to let you know that I've been lurking awhile and I saw that you decided to SIR to Cal, congrats!! I'm also a cogsci major from the Bay Area as well (I am assuming you are from your posts? ofc), but I'm attending a nearby community college and hope to transfer soon :) I wanted to ask what made you decide on cogsci and what you hope to do with it? Sorry if you might have answered this already omg but yeah have fun with the rest of your senior year and gl with college!!!

AND ALSO THANK YOU WAHHH but yeah! Iām currently an intended CogSci major c: hmmm honestly because Iām only 17, my knowledge of CogSci is pretty shallow right now, because I havenāt had any Real Experiences with it or the courses that relate to it.
with that being said however, I primarily chose it because I love the interdisciplinary aspect of it! Iāve never really categorized myself as a āhumanities kidā or a āstem kidā, because I happen to really enjoy both literature and math (and, from time to time, physics LOL)! so, when I learned about CogSci, it seemed like the perfect major for me, because it touches on such a broad variety of disciplines!
in my opinion, it also has lots and lots of practical uses (which i love), and it also allows me to go in many different directions! i can pursue a more biological-oriented education, by concentrating on the neuroscience aspect; or, i can choose to go down the psych route, and specialize in human behavior; but!! i also have the choice of relating cogsci concepts to technology, such as in CS (UI/UX design), which is probably what iām gonna end up doing! or, at least, thatās my plan for now heh c:
honestly though i just love learning about the brain and how it works, because human minds are funky dude o u o

roommates situation still kinda sticky just because im like >.> idk what to do ack ack donāt want to pressure anyone into choosing anything so !!!!
i am glad im not going to college in SoCal, bECAUSE THAT DRIVE WAS TERRIBLE RIP I GOT MOTION SICK i have taken BART for granted heh
