Jack’s emotional journey, Sam’s bravery in the face of Lucifer (attacking Lucifer to stop him from hurting Jack), Dean’s panic at Sam and Jack being taken away, Cas’s fear for Dean and what he’s doing… that was freaking AMAZING!!

Also I see why everyone complains about the Michael!Dean and Lucifer fight, the choreography was not great. Michael!Dean’s entrance was amazing, though, and so was Lucifer’s death and the twinkling embers in the scorch marks his wings left on the ground. Also honestly the choreography of the actual fight was better than Supernatural’s average until they started flying around, so I’d call that a win. Supernatural is amazing at the pretty lights and not so good at the choreography most of the time, so honestly that’s pretty normal

Also, one, Alexander Calvert’s acting is great, I love how every one of Jack’s emotions is broadcasted onto his face

Two, JENSEN ACKLES AND HIS ACTING SKILLS SWITCHING FROM DEAN TO MICHAEL- I WAS SCREAMING

Straightening up with that blank expression that slowly transformed into Micheal’s resting expression, easily reminiscent of his former vessel, and it is so clearly and terrifyingly obvious that it is not Dean behind the wheel anymore…

And then Cas’s face at the end of the show... Dean isn’t dead, but he is a prisoner inside his own mind. And Cas knows exactly how this feels, Lucifer did the same thing to him and to Sam. His expression, the grief, the complete devastation… he didn’t know what to do, Dean made that decision and Cas couldn’t stop him, not this time. I’m curious to see how he handles the next season, facing Micheal in control of Dean’s body. Seeing Micheal wearing the face of the man Cas loves more than anything.

Sam- Sam is probably really hecking shocked, but I’m guessing this is gonna be a little bit like when Dean was a demon, he’s gonna go after him and do whatever it takes to save him and stop Michael. And Jack will probs be a huge help once his powers regenerate (I assume they will, even if it takes a while). And Cas will be by their side, and he will do anything to free Dean, to have the man he loves back. Hmm diverging fanfic idea…

Been meaning to do this comparison for awhile because it just stuck out so strongly to me. Maybe it’s already been pointed out.

There’s that sheer, absolute delight Apochael has when he kills Gabriel, when he watches the entire while the tower of Light. And while we don’t quite know the relationship of the archangels on Apocalypse World, Apochael clearly hasn’t seen a version of the brother in awhile. Probably has some buried fond memories, and certainly not nearly the same issues he’d have with a Lucifer.

Still, there’s that glee on his face when he kills Gabriel. Gabriel.

Michael is... wrecked. He’s lost Adam, he’s desperately grasping at anything he can get for a sense of normal--even if that means siding (*holds back anger*) with his Father. For him, in this moment, he has to kill Lucifer, churned by bitterness and far too many other things.

Despite all this, he still struggles to keep his eyes on Lucifer the entire time. Even if he was exhausted and out of breath, if he was any fraction similar enough to his other self, he would have watched the whole while. He would have taken enjoyment out of that kill, but he doesn’t, can’t.

And even if he wasn’t as lost and wayward as he’s gotten, I don’t imagine he would have.
