I’ve never hated a year like this.
this isn't going to get many notes, but if my mutuals could reblog this, that'd be great. so the living human dumpster won. okay. it's terrifying and disgusting how america gave into deep-rooted biases and hatred rather than reaching for a new future. i'm as scared and angry as everybody else. but this is our reality. so what do we do? we start small. as everybody knows, congress has an overwhelming republican majority. there is very little house power for the democrats. it's also pretty unlikely that the yam supreme is going to get impeached, and if he does, we get mike "conversion therapy" pence. we need to get democrats into power. and that's where something people really don't think about comes into play: state legislatures. elect democrats for your governors, your representatives. god knows the republicans are going to jerrymander things. you have to be watching your cities and municipalities because they're going to be pushing to repeal civil liberties. you want people in your state legislatures who will be able to elect people to the federal government fairly. take abortion. if the new supreme court (god forbid) overturns the federal right to abortion, it'll be down to the states. what your state government decides will be what impacts you in the long run. if/when that happens, the legal right to abortion will be decided by what kind of state government you have. there's so much the state can do. watch out for it. stay vigilant. don't wait for 2018 to change things. know your local candidates. make sure you understand what's going on around you before you take it to DC. please stay safe, everybody. we will survive this.

I'm honestly dreading to go to school tomorrow. Even skipped school today because the whole situation is too much for me. Yesterday, Wednesday at about 9 am current time it was announced that trump is president, and the day just turned horrible, teachers actually started telling students that trump is the lesser evil and it's good he got president. Meanwhile my siblings in the u.s. and other minorities are being assaulted and "hoped for that they get departed soon" It's not a question of if trump will execute the things he promised, because if he does, that will go too far "and who knows if he even has the competence to do anything really". The thing is, it already went way too far, with the fact that he even got president, hell, that he even was a candidate. If you are a minority in America please stay safe, it will get better hopefully. And hopefully trump won't do shit because he's just a useless and incompetent mofo.
look. solidarity with other women has been the ONLY way that we have ever been able to begin to liberate ourselves from patriarchy. yesterday, white women chose to prioritize their white privilege and support tr*mp and that was a huge mistake for all of us. we have a rapist as commander-in-chief now. we have a conservative senate, a conservative house of representatives, and we’re going to get conservative justices on the supreme court.
white men constructed this country’s laws and institutions to support their exploitation of all of our bodies, our labor, and our children. they have only begrudgingly, conditionally, barely given us the right to vote and the right to bodily autonomy and they would love to take those rights back.
white women, your whiteness will not protect you from sexism. do better. you have more in common with your sisters of color than with white patriarchs who don't give a fuck about you.
so ask yourself what you can do today, when we have officially elected a misogynist majority into government, to fight against a worse tomorrow. don’t be apathetic. bitterness and finger-pointing will not accomplish anything. reach out! unite with each other! join a fucking local group! the only chance we have is with each other.
