This long one has been in my mind for a while, Mapleshade X Birchface. So Appledusk is an eternal enemy to Oakstar’s family despite the accidental death.

Maple hasn’t gotten kicked out. She’s just focusing on raising her children after her mate died and refused to take another. She and her kittens are greatly supported by the clan.

However, Birchkit (Larchkit) has been taken under his grandfather Oakstar’s wing for a long time. The young kitten may have a lot of traits from his father’s family side like a dark brown pelt, intense orange eyes and big build. But the tom has a white chest fluff and bushy tail. Also brainwashed by grandpa to be totally loyal to TC like a machine. Birchclaw becomes an antagonist or even a DF cat by becoming way worse than his grandfather.

Patchkit is shy so he may become a medicine cat most likely or a hunter with pacifistic ideals. Patchheart respects his stern grandpa for hardwork but doesn’t always agree with everything. The tom still mostly looks the same as canon but with sparkling blue eyes like his father.

Flowerkit (Petalkit) is a molly, middle ground of reason for both brothers. Despite the bright golden pelt and green eyed youth being doted on by her aunt Frecklewish, even she finds Oakstar’s smothering a bit much. Flowerblaze and Patchheart work together to stop their big brother’s revenge, madness and hunger for power.

Ravenwing, Freckle and Maple rly thought Oakstar was genuinely trying to bond with the kits. But Oakstar wound up trying to turn his own grandkids into TC loyalists and puritans. Flower and Patch tried to break their brother out of it but it was far too late…

Raven foresaw the future in darkness, if Birchclaw becomes leader then the Clans are going to suffer from his wrath. Birchclaw was disappointed that he wasn’t chosen to be leader, he wanted to make RiverClan pay for taking his father away! Isn’t that what grandfather wished for too!? Oak was going to appoint Birchclaw as deputy but had second thoughts after think about Raven’s warnings. So when Oak chose Doefeather as deputy instead, he saw shock and betrayal in Birchclaw’s eyes.

Birch was seething, how could his grandfather choose some other cat!? He was trained for his whole life for this! He later confronted Oak in private but Oak looks away, saying it was for the best of all Clans... Oak claims that he made the mistake to training him too early and teaching him the wrong lessons.

Birch attacks Oak, claiming that he should’ve been deputy not that soft+hearted molly. Patch and Flower yank their murderous brother off grandpa who lost a life. Birch gave them and other clanmates several scars before dying from his wounds.

Oakstar in StarClan is either saddened that he lost one of his grandkits to evil or is pissed that StarClan couldn’t see his great achievements. He was so focused on turning Birch into his greatest weapon that he didn’t take another mate. Pinestar and Tigerclaw are direct descendants of Birchclaw or Flowerblaze, they’re nowhere as bad as their canon counterparts bc they’ve learned that history and refused to follow that dark path.

TLDR; Mapleshade’s Vengeance became Birchclaw’s Wrath. He’s the big bad of this AU instead of his mother, actually way more dangerous. Akin to Greek mythology’s Ares and several canon WC villains. He causes discourse in Clan life by encouraging some cats to brutally get back at their ops even when the latter showed remorse. Not just whispering to leaders to make some dark choices like causing wars.
