Third and final entry of my Age of Mythology: Extended Edition playtesting blog is here - today it's going live!
And guys, good news! The stutter seems fixed! I've had some absolutely great games yesterday that were clean and flawless, and today on the latest build that will be released tomorrow pretty much the same :-) So here's to hoping it'll hold and we'll have a great launch!
A few days earlier I've supplied my second testing report and it was just some really minor bugs like "?" instead of certain symbols in credits or one mysterious texture blib I haven't seen since, and today I'll be submitting my final report with another really insignificant smallies, such as trees missing a base shadow when the AoM:EE ones are turned off. I didn't even notice that and it was picked up by a viewer from my YouTube channel :-)
All in all, we seem to be set for a really nice launch - the preloading that's available now should also help a lot, so let's see how it goes tomorrow!
Steam says I've playtested 30 hours of AoM:EE as of now, which is a decent amount of time in my opinion, and in all the games through various game modes (Supremacy, Deathmatch, Lightning, scenarios, 1v1, team games), I haven't come across any insurmountable problems. Kudos to the devs for doing such a good job, and thanks for working on the game we all love :-) I trust that if any new bugs happen to appear, you'll be fast to fix them for us :-)
If you remember me saying in the beginning how disoriented I felt because of the graphics - well it's all gone now. In just a few days, I became so accustomed to the new and awesome graphics that I'm now fully able to enjoy the game without any problems of this sort. I trust you guys will have the same experience if you won't love the new visuals from the very beginning :-)
I'll be streaming some launch-day live games on my Twitch channel http://www.twitch.tv/blackaddersplays and if you cannot wait so long, check my YouTube https://www.youtube.com/BlackAddersPlays for 22 videos full of Age of Mythology: Extended Edition!
