Today I started Act 3 of Age of Empires 3! We have...... anachronistic trains!!
Seriously, trains were apparently invented in 1804, and only popularized in the USA by 1840. This Act takes place in 1817.
I can only conclude trains were invented earlier in this universe.
I haven't been playing Age of Empires 3 lately due to lack of time and energy - but I still intend to finish the game when I can. We should see more liveblogs soon.

This game is incredible. We had a level in Act II where our protagonists go to the Plains, and meet the native people from there, and the whole level is designed with an accurate biome, the different tribes that live there, their houses, their language, despite the limitations in design, all in all pretty well researched.
Barely two levels later, as we go even further west to the Rocky Mountains, the RUSSIANS are trying to invade the Americas through there.
This game did the native americans better research than the Europeans. Unexpected W.
I love this sorta Red Dead Redemption mood. They're traveling to the old wild west now. John really is crossing half the country to get revenge for his wimpy uncle.
