like i just imagine ramsey one night bringing child giovanni a mixtape through the window and then gio playing it so the two can jam out together. specifically with “valerie”, ramsey starts singing along to it which makes gio go !!! WOW THAT’S MY DAD GROOVING HE IS SO COOL 

and as gio gets older he uses the song as a way to feel closer to his dad. (heck, he once even fell for the idea that his dad was the original singer of that song.) but he always has the image of him and ramsey in his head. occasionally, if on hand, he’ll look at old photos of the two of them, or he’ll fiddle with trinkets ramsey had stolen “purchased” for him as a kid. i think it’s like a comfort song???

he probably also gets daydreams about cool adventures with ramsey when he listens to it, ideas of being on some sort of epic road trip around the world to look at all the cool places he’s always wanted to visit. even if he knows it’d probably never happen, at least not for a long while, it doesn’t stop him from hoping. after all, maybe one day they could do it when giovanni becomes some ~epic internationally-feared supervillain~ and can get enough money to run around and do what he wants without his MOMS getting in the way, GOSH moms i just wanna be EVIL is that SO MUCH TO ASK!?!?!??!
