Nothing like those 1am mental meltdowns where everything wrong with your brain goes off at once and all of a sudden it's a cacophony of "nobody loves you and the the girl you want doesn't want you back and the reason you've come so close to getting shit but never actually getting it is becuase you fucking suck and the violeta people were right when they basically told you you're talentless and you should just kill yourself right now because everyone and the world would be better off". Me, trying to explain my executive dysfunction to my dad: I know I have to do the thing, and I understand the consequences of not doing the thing, and I want to avoid those consequences especially because I've experienced them and know I don't like them. And I know I want the incentives for doing the thing, too. I just can't make myself do it and I have a really hard time explaining the disconnect.
My dad: Well, I think maybe when you move out and have to really deal with the consequences of not doing something, that'll help you learn to do it.
