I'm curious about:
Black Forest Kirschtorte
Ein, Eine, Einen
German titlesš
Thank you for the ask!
Ah yes... sadly, I can't write a fanfic in German (yet), but this is partly my attempt at paying homage and appreciation to the German fandom that has kept the fandom alive all these years.
Black Forest Kirschtorte
setting: 1960s, during a school holiday or special celebration.
Pete is angry at Jupiter. Jupiter is angry at Bob. Bob is angry at Pete. They all didn't meet up for a while. :(
However, they all felt guilty because of the mistakes they had made. While doing their own activities, they all thought about giving something to the person they had wronged. And they all realised how much they missed each other. :')
The Black Forest Kirschtorte is an overarching theme (not sure how to explain it without revealing the whole story). But yeap, the cake will be featured!
Ein, Eine, Einen
setting: 1960s, school exam season.
Pete was stressing out about learning German (he took the subject at school). Jupiter and Bob helped him. Then they got stressed out. š
Basically... this fanfic is me projecting onto Pete because I've been trying to learn German bit by bit. I'm okay. ą“¦ąµą“¦ą“æ ą¼ąŗ¶āæą¼ąŗ¶ )
A snippet:
Bob examined the essay. "Hallo, ich heiĆe Peter Crenshaw... sounds normal enoughā¦" He continued. "Ich bin ein katzeānever mind, I give up." "Hey! Not so fast??" Pete exclaimed. "What's wrong with it?" "You should use 'eine', Pete," Jupiter took over while Bob plopped defeatedly onto a pile of cushions. "And you forgot to capitalize 'Katze'. Ich bin eine Katze." "Oh. But why 'eine'?" "Cat is a feminine noun." "But the cat is a boy!" Pete protested. "Ach so," Jupiter nodded dramatically. "I suppose you can say Ich bin ein Katerā" "Why are we even talking about this?" Bob groaned and forced himself up. "The whole sentence is wrongāyou're saying you are a cat! Didn't you mean you have a cat?" "What!" Pete stared in disbelief. "Jupe, why didn't you correct it?" "I thought perhaps you were writing a fiction piece written from the point of view of a cat," Jupiter said coolly, but his eyes had a mischievous gleam. "You did it on purpose..." Pete muttered.
...I feel you, Pete. :')
sidenote: Bob Andrews canonically took German at school! This was mentioned in Book #15, Mystery of the Flaming Footprints - M.V. Carey (1971) pg. 79.
Which was why he's the most stressed one. š
I headcanon that Jupiter took Spanish at school, but he also knew German because he learnt at home and could practice with Hans and Konrad.
