I miss when that sub actually had critical thinking and wasn't yet another drooling Nick fangirl hivemind. When the larger ones started going full on Nick-worshipper, that one seemed to hang on a bit longer to sanity. I guess that's all gone now. Sigh.

Straight women will really go to insane lengths to justify why they wanna bone some useless, undeserving, ugly soggy bagel man. And then pretend it has nothing to do with their vaginas getting all a-flutter, even though that is literally their only factor. It gets even better when they can hate a woman alongside it. Gotta throw in some good old-fashioned woman-hating as a bonus, even if it's unrelated. (This could be the male actor's real life partner or a female character that isn't the female character they Mary Sue themselves with or other female fans of the film/show/musician. Whomever they identify as a "threat".)

And I'm not even just being petty. When is the last time I saw a legit publication/critic praise Max's skill? Never? I don't read anything about him specifically, but when I'm reading reviews and such for the show overall, he is rarely mentioned with any significance. It's Moss who does most of the "omg he's the best!! uwu!!!" bullshit, especially when she's got a lot of scenes with him. Heh. She's so transparent. Most critics don't give a shit about the Nick/June cycle of chemistry-less dumbassery, and praise for him as an actor seems limited. So, it isn't just a few mean little Serena fangirls being rude online. If Nick and Max were such a win for THT, the show would still be winning awards and the show would still be praised by critics. IT ISN'T. They sidelined the most talented actors (Samira, Yvonne), gave some of the talented veterans bullshit to work with (Dowd, Whitford), and elevated the least engaging ones (Max, OT, Fiennes, Moss, Brewer) for 2.5 full seasons now.

[Note: It's not that I think OT or Moss are bad actors. I think OT is okay. Luke as a character is a bit wishywashy which doesn't help, and OT does what he can but it seems like Luke has been given the late-stage Serena Treatment. aka he has one personality trait and one expression to perform all season: outraged, useless husband make angryface! (Serena gets pathetic, literal dumbass obsessed with baby). Maybe he would seem better (as would Yvonne) if they were given literally ANYTHING new to work with. Now, Nick, ALLEGEDLY, has an arc. We just can't see it cos he's a terrible actor that never changes anything about how he acts in any scene ever. Moss... well, I think everyone knows my opinions on Moss' (over)acting.......and insistent dramatic closeups... (PS. I rewatched parts of 5x07 yesterday for research purposes lol, and she really did do a MUCH better job than she has in 99% of the her scenes for 3 years now.).

PS. I just personally don't like Madeline Brewer even though I do think she's a half-decent actor, and I think the whole Lydia/Janine storyline is a bogus waste of time that ruins both characters. Fiennes fits here too. I don't like him personally and think his whispers in Miller's ear have done irreparable damage to the show, but he is a good actor. I just did not think Fred (or ANY man) needed such focus in a show that is allegedly meant to be about women in society.

PPS. I didn't put Bledel here cos a)she's left the show anyway, and b) I don't think she's a good actor lmao. I always found her and Max the weakest of the OG cast. Ikik, throw me to the lions for sacrilege. She was just totally unbelievable to me as a gay woman and he big puppy dog eye acting irritates. Now, I will say her reunion with her wife actually was done very well, and I think again, that had a lot to do with who she was acting opposite, in that case the amazing Clea Duvall who has 400x the acting chops of half of this cast lol. I would 100% watch a THT that was all about Moira, Sylvia, June, Naomi, Alma, Rita, and Serena. Fuck everyone else.]

God, I wish they had just fucking killed Nick off in S2 and then we as an entire fandom and world wouldn't have to put up with any of this useless fucking nonsense, and I wouldn't be sat here still complaining about it for the 500th time. We could be talking about the actual issues with the show and the actual themes and plots, instead how much we hate/love some pointless dude who is also a terrible actor and his army of pathetic, asshole, moronic fangirls.
