First Arrow got ridiculously dark and edgelordy. Everyone who hasnât watched it thinks itâs soft because it was on the CW. No. It had torture, and mutilation and most of it didnât really serve a purpose. Itâs like they just wanted to say âLook how edgy we are!âÂ
The thing that really got to me, the thing that really, really got to me when the one guy betrays Ollie to the government because they threaten his child custody. Â And that same guy (and the rest of the vigilantes) get angry that Ollie doesn't trust them. Â You DID betray him!And then for an entire season the final line from that same character to Ollie is "Nothing's changed, Hoss." Â (After they show up to help but have to remind us they're never reconciling, never ever!)I got fed up by phrase by the end of it, I was like "that's it. I'm done." This was around season 5 or 6 (I donât remember which season it was), I stopped after that.Every, single episode "Nothing's changed, Hoss."

Sorry long ask, but I know how you feel about Laurel on Arrow, but I was wondering did you always dislike Ol!city? While they did get annoying and ultimately was why I stopped watching them in seasons 1&2 reminded me of Biosepcialist pre Hydra reveal. Also do you have any thoughts on evil Laurel cause ive almost started watching again just for her lol
Oh I always hated them together. First, before anything happened, because the triangle was annoying and bad for all the characters involved as well as for the show. Largely because the show willingly played into the shipwars, which resulted in some pretty shitty treatment/erasure of Laurel on screen. (But really thatâs what Arrow is all about, isnât it? Erasing Laurel Lance.)
But more than that, I was a Smallville fan, so Iâm one of those people who had just a few years earlier lived through Dinah getting sidelined for the quirky, fan favorite, can-do-no-wrong character. Having it happen again was like a slap in the face, especially since I came to this show first and foremost for Black Canary and secondarily for this ship that I was not alone in wanting to see finally done right.Â
So in all honesty there was literally no way I could have shipped it given that history, even if the show had handled it well.
As for e2 Laurel, Iâll admit I like what Iâve seen of her, but not enough that Iâd do anything aside from vicariously look at gifsets and clips focused on her. Part of that is due to the ol!city issue and that it just ruins the show completely for me and part of it is due to e2 Laurelâs unfortunate role as yet another means of erasing the original Laurelâs character. I mean, sheâs literally living her life, pretending to be her. Which makes sense given the circumstances, but after Felicity got Oliver and Dinah got the freaking cry and Sara got to be the Canary first and got to have Sin and got to be the cool one everyone (most obviously the showrunners) loved for it, having this other Laurel show up and take her life ... honestly whatâs even left at this point?
So yeah, sheâs cool and itâs fun seeing Katie play evil again, Iâll admit that, and if sheâs enough to redeem the show for you, I do sincerely hope you enjoy it. But for me, thereâs just no getting around how horribly Arrow treated the character I came to it for.
Title: well versed in etiquette, extraordinarily nice
Rating: PG
Pairing: Nora Darhk/Ray Palmer aka Darhkatom
Warnings: Some pretty anti-arrow feels are in this one, sorry yâall.
Summary/Notes: Ray and the rest of the Legends are invited to another wedding of their allies. After the Nazi invasion from Earth X, Ray is hesitant to go. Nora encourages him only to find out that Team Arrow will be there and Nora is not sure she can be held responsible for what would happen if she were left unsupervised near Oliver Queen
Day nine of 25 days of Darhkatom! Feel free to click the through my blog to see the others! Basically, I will be posted all loosely related (unless stated otherwise) fics for 25 days straight!
Thank you so much to @timetravelingpalmer for encouraging me to publish this.
Ray honestly wasnât sure whether or not heâd attend another wedding of someone in their general circle of allies after what happened the last time. Nazis. Losing a Legend. Everything that could go wrong, went wrong.
And yet he and the rest of the Legends were all agreeing to RSVP for the wedding of Wally West and Linda Park. He liked Wally, heâd been a part of the Legends for a short while and had saved him from being kidnapped in Berlin and had helped defeat Mallus. Wally was a cool guy and Ray couldnât be more happy for him.
âWally feels too young to be getting married. Isnât he like 15?â Nora asked as they walked back to their room.
âNo, I think thatâs how old you technically are right now.â
Nora smacked his chest playfully. âSo, whoâs going to be your hot wedding date?â
Ray shook his head. âYou, of course. Though I could always take Zari, sheâs not the one with the history that may complicate the jolly festivitiesâŚâ
Nora arched a brow. âAnd whatâs THAT supposed to mean?â
âWell, Team Arrow is invited and you, for good reason, donât like them.â
âYeah cause Oliver Queen killed my dad.â
âWell Oliver Queen is probably going.â
Nora thought for a minute. Really thought if she could be civil and be in the same room as the man that killed her father. She understood from the day that she was free of Mallus that her father was not a good man, not even a good father, but he was still her father and he had sacrificed himself at the very end to give her a second chance. Knots formed in Noraâs stomach. She wanted to be there, with Ray, do something that made her feel normal. Normal people were their boyfriendâs plus ones to weddings.
âAs long as I donât have to talk to him Iâll probably be fine.â
âIâll make sure we stay clear on the other side of the room of him at all times.â
xxxx
Much like Barry and Iris, Wally and Linda held a party the night before after the wedding rehearsal at Jitters. Ray and Nora were thrilled to be back in the place they had their first date in. The space was a lot smaller than they had remembered and it definitely felt small when Nora spotted Oliver Queen walk in with a pretty blonde on his arm.
Nora tightened her grip on Rayâs arm and he looked down at her.
âWhatâs up?â Ray asked.
âHeâs here.â
Ray followed her gaze to where Oliver and Felicity stood. He saw the ring on Felicityâs finger shine brightly in the fairy lights decorating the room and swallowed. He knew that when he and Felicity ended things she went to be with Oliver but he had no idea they had gotten married after the Naziâs from Earth X had invaded.
âIf you feel like you canât do this, we can go. Wally and Linda wonât be upset. Weâll just say goodnight and see them at the wedding tomorrow.â
âNo I need to do this. Iâve been able to grow so much mostly thanks to your help. I need to be able to at least stand in the same room as him. It was a long time ago for me, I can handle it. Iâll let you know if I canât. So thank you.â She leaned up and pecked his lips.
They continued to mingle with the others, mostly keeping in groups with the other Legends, occasionally talking with members of Team Flash, congratulating Wally and Linda until two blondes made their way towards them.
Nora tightened her grip again on Rayâs arm. âRelax, Iâll handle it.â
âRay!â Felicity held out her arms for a hug. âHow are you? Iâm sorry about Professor Stein, he was a good man.â
Ray nodded. âThanks, Felicity, I think that there will always be a missing piece of the Legends because of his absence.â
âYeah. We all saw how many lives he touched at the funeralâŚâ realizing the conversation was dying she turned her attentions towards the brunette with Ray. âWhoâs your date?â
Ray pretended to not try and deflect the conversation onto something other than Nora and facepalmed himself. âOf course, you guys havenât met. Felicity, this is my girlfriend, Nora. Nora, this is Felicity and Oliver Queen.â
Felicity pulled Nora into a hug, which was probably the last thing Nora ever wanted, and thankfully Oliver was standoffish as usual and didnât even offer a handshake.
âItâs⌠nice⌠to meet you guys.â Nora tried to regulate her breathing. She was just a girl, meeting old friends of her boyfriendâs.
Felicity crinkled her nose. âWow, we have so many Noraâs floating around lately, now another, how fun.â
âYeah⌠exhilarating.â Nora deadpanned.
âAnd your eyes are so pretty, theyâre absolutely striking.â
âThanks, I got them from my dad.â
Nora watched as the comment made Oliver almost visibly flinch. She tried her hardest to hide the smirk. If he had figured it out, watching him squirm at her kindness was going to be almost as fun as all of the things she used to plan to do him if she ever got the chance to see him again.
âWell theyâre gorgeous. So are you a Legend?â
âI am. Have been for about three months now.â
âThatâs awesome theyâre a good group of people.â
âEspecially Ray.â Nora leaned her head onto his bicep. âHeâs made me a better person.â
âRay sees the best in people.â
âThat he does.â Nora replied in a sickenly sweet but almost ominous tone.
Oliver coughed. âFelicity letâs go get a drink. Itâs was nice seeing you again Ray, and meeting you Nora. Weâll talk later.â
Nora watched them walk away and smirked.
âSee that wasnât so bad.â Ray grinned optimistically.
âNo, you know, it wasnât.
xxxx
âHey, we have drinks back at our table, why did you drag me away like you couldnât me out of there fast enough? Donât tell me youâre like jealous of Ray or something.â
Oliver made a face. âNo. Something, somethingâs just off about what just happened.â
âWhat? The fact that Ray has a girlfriend? Iâm really happy for him and Nora seems nice, a little on the dark side, but nice.â
It clicked. If Oliver were in a cartoon, a lightbulb would be turning on.
âSay that again.â
âSheâs nice, a little dark but nice.â
âDark.â
âYes. The absence of light but also when people act a little mysterious.â
Felicity laughed. âThatâs not possible. Nora Darhk is about sixteen years old. That canât be her, that woman is in her thirties.â
âRay spends his days traveling through time. I donât know how or why, but Iâm telling you, that woman over there is Nora Darhk and sheâs dangerous.â
âOliver, come on. Thatâs not her. Youâre being ridiculous and paranoid. Now can we go back to the party, to celebrate Wally and Linda. Fashion a smile, Mr. Grumpypus.â She pretended to pinch his cheek.
âFine. But Iâm telling you Iâm right.â
âSure.â Felicity patted his chest to appease him.
xxxx
âFelicity⌠why does that name sound familiar?â Nora asked she stirred her drink while at a bar top table with a few of the other Legends. Ray had left to go talk with Cisco about something on the other side of the room and Nora didnât trust herself to be left unsupervised.
âLike Felicity Smoak? Thatâs cause sheâs Rayâs ex.â Zari explained and popped an olive in her mouth.
Nora almost choked on her drink. âWhat?â
âAnd you didnât know that. Right well Iâm going to exit the conversation now.â
Nora grabbed Zariâs arm. âWhat do you know about his relationship with her?â
âBrief cause now she hangs on Oliver Queenâs arm. It was right after he bought Queen Consolidated. Iâm trying to remember other concrete details but honestly I only know this much cause Amaya and I got Ray super drunk one night and he kept crying about wanting to find love.â
Nora sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. âOkay. Do you know if theyâre still on good terms?â
âOh yeah, they broke up amicably. Felicity knew her heart was with Oliver and Ray was being a little too Ray about the whole thing. Thatâs all. Can you let go of my arm now?â
Nora realized she still had it in a tight grip and released it. âSorry.â She returned to stirring her drink. Oliver had hurt her. Felicity had hurt Ray. She needed Ray to come back before she did something really stupid.
xxxx
Ray finally returned to her side and she kissed him softly.
âHey, miss me?â
âAlways.â She felt him drape an arm around her shoulders and smiled up at him. She was ready to grill his ass.
âWhy didnât you tell me Felicity was your ex-girlfriend?â
âBecause we broke up amicably and it didnât seem relevant and I didnât want to add to the stress of you being in the same room with the man that killed your dad.â
Nora glared at him. âYour ex married the man that killed my father. Itâs definitely relevant, babe.â
âSorry⌠Iâll make sure to tell you the next time I run into an ex of mine.â
âHow many exes do you have!?â
âJust two others and one died.â Ray squeezed his eyes shut, ready for Nora to hex him.
Nora took in deep breaths to calm herself back down. âOkay. Oliver and Felicity donât know who I am. We are going to keep it that way because I will not be held responsible for what happens if he confronts me and knows Iâm Damien Darhkâs daughter.â
âDonât worry, I have it all under control.â Ray said and totally lied through his teeth, he did not have it all under control.
xxxx
Oliver caught Saraâs arm and she batted him off.Â
âCan I help you with something, Mr. Queen?â
âSara, Iâm going to ask you this once and you better tell me the truth. Who is that.â Oliver pointed over to Nora as she and Ray chatted with Wally and Linda.
âThatâs Nora, she joined the team three months ago and has been dating Ray for about as long.â
âAnd?...â
âAnd sheâs really great, she makes really good baked chicken soup and makes Ray really happy.â
Oliver sighed, exasperated. âYou know exactly why Iâm asking you who she is. Sara, sheâs the daughter of the man that killed your sister.â
âAnd youâre the man that murdered that man in front of her when she was twelve! Sheâs not dangerous if thatâs what youâre wondering. Now if youâll excuse me, I have a hot date to return to.â Sara caught Avaâs eyes from across the room and winked at her.
Oliver shook his head. âSheâs dangerous. Sheâs a Darhk. Sheâs probably killed tons of people.â
âSo have you and so have I. Weâre already a team of misfits and felons, why not add another?â
âBecause you guys have reformed.â
âYou donât know that she hasnât. Look at her, really look at her. Remember the little girl you made watch as you killed her father. Sheâs only just now getting back to being the person she was before you did that. Ray makes her really happy and Ray has really really sad puppy eyes when sheâs not around. Leave her alone, Oliver. I mean it.â
âIâm surprised to hear you defending Damien Darhkâs daughter but fine. If she causes trouble...â
âIâll kill her myself.â Sara replied to appease him.
xxxx
âNora Darhk, youâre causing quite the stir.â Sara saddled up next to Nora and Ray.
Nora laughed. âAre you talking about Oliver Queen? Did you tell him who I was?â
âI did and I told him to leave you alone and that if you actually started causing trouble that I would kill you. Now that of course, makes him think Iâm on his side when in reality I lied through my teeth and will cheer you on if something ends up happening.â
Nora choked on a laugh. âThanks for the moral support?â
âAnytime.â Sara clapped Nora on the back and went in search of Ava.
Felicity hurried up to them as soon as Sara left. âOkay so Oliver just told me that Sara confirmed what he was thinking and I just have to say thatâŚâ
âIâm gonna stop you right there, blondie.â Nora held up a hand. âI might be Damien Darhkâs daughter but I think I am the first person in line ready to bury every atrocity with my father. Also. I stopped you because your opinion is pretty invalid given how terrible your taste is. You left Ray, a true gift to this world, for Oliver... Â oh what could be said about Oliver? Oliver, a man who thought it would be perfectly okay to murder a twelve year old girlâs father in front of her. That is why your opinion is invalid and I really donât want to continue talking to you anymore.â
Felicity sputtered out words that werenât actually words and turned on her heel, leaving the conversation.
Ray was shocked, turned on, and proud of Nora. He couldnât decide which more he was but she could.
âWhat do you say we ditch this party early and head back to the Waverider since weâll be the only ones on board?â She winked and pressed her back into his front further, feeling his need for her.
âI⌠yeah, that sounds like an excellent idea.â
Nora turned a little and grabbed him by his tie. She kissed him square on the mouth and when she pulled away, glanced over at Oliver Queen with a smirk and then led Ray to the door, ready to spend the rest of her night with the man she loved.
Is it just me or does Arrow feel weirdly pro-Trump lately?
âThe president mayor is being investigated and may be impeached.â
He fires corrupt officials for legitimate reasons but they claim âHe fired us because we were getting too close to exposing him!â Â
Mainstream media / reporters are bad and should not be trusted / Fake news. âAnd they wonder why everyone hates them.â
Semi-unrelated:Â Laurelâs plot is predictable (Why didnât they just resurrect the original Laurel?)Â
Also I HATE that a certain character has essentially gained the catch phrases of âNothingâs changed.â / âHe hasnât changed.â just shut up. You betrayed him (because you were being blackmailed with your child) and have a chip on your shoulder because he suspected you betrayed him. It makes no sense!  This is stupid! WHY AM I WATCHING THIS?!
Also Arrowverse has a weird Alzheimer's thing going on now.  The show Supergirl, gives a species that is supposed to be immune to those sort of illnesses, the disease. AND itâs used as a contrived filler plot because his emotions are psychically leaking. Thatâs not respecting the condition!
And now Harrison Wells is mentally deteriorating on The Flash.  Why has this become a theme??!Â

1. Â If characters just talked plots wouldn't happen. Â That usually means the plot is weak.
2. Â "How dare Oliver not trust us while one of us was betraying him!" Â Umm... What?
3. Â Black Siren: Â "I let Detective Lance go because I finally realize the alternate universe version of my father is a version of my father... Â WHY did that take so long!? Â It took "Yellow cake with chocolate icing." Â
This is so random...but hey it's Thursday. (Supergirl and Anti-Arrow)
I really hope that Supergirl, now on the CW does not associate herself with Arrow. I saw the promo for âfight clubâ thing. Ewww. She talking to that Arrow guy. Please no. I hate THEIR Green Arrow. Nothing against the actors on the showâŚor whatever. But just seeing Supergirl talking to him, turning me into a âHaterâ so fast. Hahaha.
The Flash crossoverâŚI love that. I find them compatible as characters and heroes. But I hate CWâs Arrow. I love Green Arrow in the comics and other DC animations, but that show left a terrible after taste. I feel so sorry for the fans that doesnât read the comics, because he is an awesome character and he does not have to be a Batman âimitationâ to be his own hero.
I stop watching in the middle of season 2âŚand I do not like the way they treat the women on the show. And they destroy Black Canary. Trust me, I really did not care for the Oliver and Laurel relationship, she deserve better than him. He is an ass on the showâŚsleeping with her sister behind her back, then when he was on the islandâŚhe was sleeping with another woman, then he comes back to âStarling Cityâ tried to win Laurel backâŚthan Sara comes back and he start sleeping with her again, and while during this timeline, he knocked up another ladyâŚand they want their beloved Felicity with this guy? They turn so many fans against Black Canary due to the terrible writing to the point that actress was getting death threats. Now thatâs unhealthy for any fandom. And scary.
Sheâs a fantastic character in the comics, and they belittle her development for 2nd rate characters. Sorry if I offended you, but that show is offensive and donât give me that itâs not the comics, that I shouldnât be ranting because I am a comic book fanâŚbut these characters came from the comics and they are âbasedâ of themâŚ.so why the hell do a show based on these characters and do a 360 on their characteristics?
Please. I love Supergirl. Itâs a great show with positive and strong females leads. Keep CWâs Green Arrow away from her. I am being very wishful thinkingâŚ..*sign*
Oh how Iâm so happy that a lot of people left Arrow fandom and now only Olicity shipers are left because thatâs what they wanted to romanticize a tv show thatâs not suposed to be romantic :))))) HAVE GREAT TIME IN YOUR âFANDOMâÂ
