I’ve been thinking about this and...I’ve realized why Sam is just now doing this.

Sam has had the “normal life” with Lucky, kinda McBain, Patrick, Silas, and Drew and in the end, she’s always gone back to Jason.

She went back to Jason because she’s always lived one life. She was reckless, she was selfish and she didn’t give a damn if she lived or died. So when she met Jason, all of that kind of made her even more excited because she had someone who was just like her and she saw how they could still “have it all” without changing each other.

Which is one of the reasons she gave Elizabeth so much shit. She prided herself on being ride or die and being able to handle not only herself, but stand by her man and handle his shit too. Sam believed it so much that she thought she could have a family with him. 

But then Sam lost Danny, got him back and then just when she thought she would have that family life she believed she could have with Jason, she lost Jason. 

Sam had to live without Jason for five years and in those five years she learned a lot more about herself than she thought. She became a single mother who would do anything to protect her child that she almost lost twice (first with Heather, then to his cancer). 

Sam learned to fall in love again and she dated men who were extremely different from Jason and she liked how it felt. 

Then, she meets “Jake”,  a man who slightly reminded her of the man she loved and lost. She, along with other people, were made to believe that "Jake” was Jason and she believed she finally had her husband back. So, she jumped on the chance to be a family with “Jason” again and she wanted them to learn about one another again. She wanted them to have the happily ever after that was taken from them. 

Then, “Jason” started to do something she didn’t expect and that was put her first. Sure, OGJason has always said Sam was first, but he’s always backtracked and shown her otherwise. So, when NuJason did everything she’s secretly wanted, she got scared and she felt as though something was wrong. 

Then, she finds out “her Jason” isn’t actually the man she thought he was and she has OGJason back. And he’s exactly like she remembered.

Sam was the epitome of “the grass is greener on the other side”. She believed Drew had changed her and because everyone was telling her that she wasn’t “the real sam”, she fell for it. OGJason was what she remembered and she wanted to see what that life would’ve been like now that HE was actually back. Could they have had the family she envisioned in her fantasy all those years ago when she thought she lost Danny? Could they be a family? Could they actually be happy?

Drew provided that for her.

Jason didn’t and he wasn’t going to do it.

This is why Sam is in the position she’s in now. She is officially a single mother of two with no backup plan for her or her children. 

She sold off her ELQ shares to Valentin(e?) just so she could have a new parole officer to be with Jason. She has no real employment, cause let’s be honest, she’s never a “real” PI except when it’s time to help Jason, Carly, and Sonny.

Remember when everyone wanted to protect carson and now everyone hates him

…despite the fact that your sixteen year old daughter already KNOWS that her stepfather is a mobster and she’s wondering what her life would be like without the mob...but...you honestly think if she stays in her room and keeps taping up boxes as if Dev just moved away is you doing a good job as a mother?

Michael got raped in prison, Morgan was blown up, Michael was kidnapped and presumed dead, Michael got shot in the head, Michael was in a coma, Josslyn being visited by Franco on a number of occasions, but sure...yeah...

I don’t have any sympathy for Sam. 

Sam knew who Jason was when she was sleeping with Sonny and pregnant with his kid. 

Sam knew who Jason was when she lost her child and decided to pursue a romantic relationship with him despite him telling her “I won’t be able to tell you everything about the business”. 

Sam knew who Jason was when she got back together with him in ‘09 and married him in ‘11. 

Sam knew who Jason was when she decided to get pregnant with Danny and raise him with Jason, and she was damn sure fine with it when Jason left that night and was presumed dead.

Sam knew who Jason was when the real Jason came back and she knew he was not going to change.

So, for the writers to want the audience to suddenly feel bad for Sam worrying about her kids lives is pretty damn hilarious to me.

The same woman that made fun of Elizabeth choosing her kids over Jason’s lifestyle is now crying about the very same thing? 

Sam needs to go have a seat somewhere. She is either going to sit down with Jason and tell him how she really feels or she’s going to suck it up and deal with it and become a mini Carly. Because she knows Jason isn’t going to change. Yes, Jason feels as though time didn’t change for him, but he’s more than aware that it’s 2020, going on 2021 now, he should realize that the mob life took him away from the supposed woman he loves and the children he didn’t get to watch grow up. And this is why he stays garbage. 

Sam knows damn well he’s not going anywhere. Just take your kids and say goodbye to him.

And to think she ruined her relationships with Patrick and Drew for this.
