I’ve had this idea for a ferret character along with a bunch of other animal characters since I was about 12 years old. I want to make a comic/graphic novel about them some day, it’s just coming up with the story that’s the hardest part at the moment.
Iberian lynx sketches. Lynx have such weirdly long legs and big paws, it’s difficult to draw them without the anatomy looking off, even when being accurate.
When sketching certain animals I often find myself giving them a kind of personality as I draw them. Something about the expressions on this one looked a bit sneaky and villainous, so I went overboard with classic ‘Disney villain’ green fire and bonus crow sidekick 😄 On a more serious note however, the Iberian lynx is very sadly the world’s most endangered feline species, so I like to think this could be more of a troubled ‘antihero’ character instead, fighting to reclaim their lost habitat or something.
