I think with the rise of generative AI the sci-fi trope of a human being turned into an AI is even more powerful because in some sense AI has become the antithesis of a lot of traits that are innately human like compassion, empathy, free will, creativity and the ability to create truly meaningful art. But is also innately a blight on the world to a strength that many humans would fail to achieve. It's not just about losing your humanity anymore it's about becoming something that is all of the ills of humanity with none of the good.

I have decided as a bit with myself that I would pretend that all ai stuff is just one guy named Al so whenever ai slop comes up I can just get mad at Al.
