Gadge - wedding reject table
Madge found Table Twelve and grimaced internally. Ā Cool, thanks Delly, she thought. Ā Iām at the weird cousin table. Ā They werenāt actually cousinsā just the sort of awkward childhood friends who had grown up together but werenāt best friends. Ā Close enough to warrant an invite to the wedding but not close enough to be in the wedding. Ā To be fair, Delly had invited her with a plus one, but Katniss was busy and Madge wasnāt seeing anyone, and honestly, a blind date at a wedding was worse than being alone.
She sat down and pulled out her phone so she could at least pretend to be texting and someone sank into the chair next to her. Ā She stole a glance at him, and then another. Ā Abruptly, her opinion on the weird cousin table changed because the newcomer, well...he was hot. Ā She clicked off her phone and smiled sweetly at him. Ā āIām Madge,ā she said, and pretended not to notice that he checked her out.
āGale,ā he said. Ā āI work with Delly, but apparently weāre not good enough friends to warrant not being at the Rejects table.ā Ā His eyes widened comically. Ā āNot that youāreā shit, that was not the best first impression, was it?ā
āNot your best, no. Ā And Rejectās table? Ā I call it the Weird Cousin table,ā she grinned.
āWeird Cousin works too,ā he said, his grey eyes twinkling, and Madge decided maybe Delly knew what she was doing after all. Ā
