Some of you lil fucks need a polite reminder. Stop sending weird shit to strangers. Stop sending extremely personal asks to strangers. Stop sending degrading and terrible or insulting shit to strangers. Stop acting like you and the stranger know each other on the daily. STOP SENDING WEIRD ANONS TO STRANGERS WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM????
Im so so so so curious ! Did u ever get an "Anon" ask so heinous or even outright mean and disrespectful but that person forgot to turn on 'Anonymous ask' mode?
I donât think thatâs ever happened on Absentiaâ at least that I can rememberâ but it has happened to me before. At that point, I couldnât bother to actually respond to the message, however used to it I was, so I simply blocked the account and saved the ask for later (my girlfriend finds them interesting to look at and discuss).
Most of the time, unless Iâve truly reached the end of my rope, I try not to be too harsh or mean when responding to Anon Discourse, because I donât know what life is like on the other side of their screen. Not that it excuses some of the things that have been said to, or about, me, but it makes it a bit more understandable (in my mind anyway). Plus, Iâve gotten some apologies too, which werenât needed but appreciated all the same.
It happens sometimes, but it hasnât happened on here (yet).
look i wouldnât have been so sarcastic and skeptical at first abt the izzy fans getting hate if the tone wasnât always âizzy fans are the only ones getting anon hate and itâs all the fault of people who hate izzyâ
and if youâre like âwell thatâs not what i saidâ or âokay i didnât mean it like that thoâ then congrats! the same thing goes for my posts where i was skeptical! i didnât mean that i thought all the anon hate was fake and that all izzy fans were sending it to themselves, but when you come into my blog and see a post where iâm skeptical about the origins of anon hate and youâve been experiencing a lot of this hate firsthand, you naturally interpreted my posts defensively. and thatâs fine! i get it! it makes sense!
but the reason i made those skeptical posts in the first place is because from my perspective, izzy fans were coming onto unrelated izzy critical posts (many of which were written by poc) and acting like those posts were personal attacks on them. and then those izzy fans were claiming that izzy fans have been getting anon hate, anon hate that i had not seen yet, and that these unrelated izzy critical posts were contributing to that harassment, and yeah! press X to doubt! from my point of view, it looked like there were a lot of izzy fans who didnât want to see anything even slightly mean said about their favorite character, and they had a persecution complex because they got some run-of-the-mill anon hate.
like we all made assumptions! we all came into this biased because of which side of the fandom we were on! izzy fans getting upset about izzy critical posts seemed like fans who wanted to silence conversations abt race in ofmd, and it seemed like izzy haters being skeptical abt anons were condoning or excusing the anon hate. and both of those may be true for some of the people in the fandom, but itâs probably not true for the majority. i can say that as an izzy hater, i donât condone or excuse anon hate being sent to any fan. and as far as i know, nobody i interact with does either.
ughhh i finally found the asks button, ďżźand as i suspected it was just me lacking common sense, but whatâs new?đ¤Ł
anyway, iâm only here to say that itâs mind blowing how entitled people can be just because of the anon feature. theyâre out here thinking writers owe them shit, and then they are the ones who act all offended?! nah, it doesnât work like thatâŚ
itâs a shame they didnât take the time to read the rest of your work, but itâs for the best! disrespectful people donât deserve the honor of reading number nine!
Thank you this made me feel a bit better đ

Hello, everyone. I don't know but all this is getting a bit ridiculous to me. I hope it's ok if I remain anonymous. I'm a Stranger Things fan and yes, I like the character of Billy. I like him in the context of the story. I also like that it's a realistic depiction of a cycle of abuse. The racist aspect is never clearly addressed but very strongly (even explicitly) implied. There's no going around. Even if you like a character in a story, it doesn't mean that you have to close your eyes and deny that he is a racist. Loving a character in a movie or show doesn't mean you HAVE to agree with their actions (or even justify their actions?!). English is not my first language so I hope you understand what I am trying to say. It's like watching horror movies and sometimes cheering on the killer. For example, I like all of the villains in Breaking Bad, but that doesn't mean that what they're doing is right. I'm experiencing the same problem again where all those annoying Walter White fans hate his wife Skyler but passionately. They didn't get the point of the character and I'm sorry, they didn't get the point of Billy's role either. In conclusion: I don't understand why Billy fans take it to heart when others don't like him or hate him. He was introduced as a bully in the Stranger Things world after all I mean... what else did they expect? (omg sorry for this long ass ask)
yeah as i said to the previous anon, i think itâs fine to enjoy/like his character. i just specifically have a problem with some of his aggro ass stans who want to deny the fact he likely was racist simply because they wanna coddle him. newsflash, billy is a white boy from the 80s living in a small town in the midwest during the reagan era. he had abusive tendencies and goes beyond just being âmorally greyâ imo so disliking him shouldnât be shocking to his die hard shooters. so, i donât rlly need some condescending chronically online anons (not you, others) trying to tell me i donât have nuance or understand complex characters.
(sidenote totally agreed on breaking bad, i always thought skylars actions were very believable for someone in her situation)
Doesnât really feel like youâre sorry when youâre silencing my actual words
So, Iâm not sure if youâve been following me long or not, but I try to stay away from discourse on this blog. If I feel like an anon touches discourse or potential discourse, 95% of the time, I delete it without answering. If thereâs something I want to say, Iâll usually make an @anon post like I did for yours. But I donât answer every anon that comes into my inbox. I also donât like a crowded inbox, so I delete what I donât answer. If you want to make a post about this, you should make a post about it. Maintag it to your heartâs content. Iâm not about to tell someone that they shouldnât be offended by what Iâm viewing as a joke, because we all know that there are plenty of jokes in the world that arenât actually jokes. That are covers for people being prejudiced and racist and misogynistic assholes. Iâm also not saying that there arenât people out there in this fandom being malicious about this, just because I havenât seen it personally. What I AM saying is that this is my space and I get to choose what is on my blog. This is the last time Iâm going to answer one of your asks, because I think you want to fight about this for some reason. Please just unfollow me at this point.
hi! I understand your anger but please consider that some lesbians were in fact upset and offended by these jokes. personally I wasn't, but those who are are just as valued and respected. what I have a problem with is that the screenshots that surfaced were apparently shared by a non-lesbian just to stirr things up. lesbians in the community are so tired of this stuff. I'm glad ranboo chose to acknowledge it though instead of letting people believe they were fake or just ignore it.
unpopular opinion: those jokes were funny and other lesbians were making them??? so i cant joke with my gay friends anymore in case their fragile ego shatters into a million pieces? None of my friends can make my day a little better by making ace jokes with me? If you cant take a little joke, honestly, get off the internet. There is no way to please everybody and the sooner we accept that, the better off everyone will be.
And i want to also make it clear that if people were legitimately upset with those jokes, that's fine. You're allowed to feel what you feel. But cancelling Ranboo or throwing a huge fit is not the solution! Just block and move on. That's all that needs to be done. You are in control of the media you consume, not some minor in america. If you want to see a change in the world, look inwards. God i hate the internet.
Also turn off anon you coward
