To know the shape of the vowels like your own palm, to know the quirky and the seamless elisions of certain words. To know a language intimately isĀ to be able to write poetry in it.Ā

Hey guys, this is just a hubris post to remind me how proud I am right now. I was so nervous going up and reciting my poetry and I was the very last name to be drawn from that hat and my knees shook so much they made a noise. But I made it through the poem with only one mistake and Iām really proud of myself for making it through.
I have to remember to challenge myself like this; itās what allows me to grow
Grandads are Legends
I love my granddad so much. So I told him I was doing a really big English project on Frederick the Great and he comes up from his basement where he keeps a veritable library(that has been halved since he moved) and comes up with this giant book on him.Ā Ā
This keeps repeating too. When I was doing a science project on leafcutter ants of all things, lo and behold, he comes up with a signed copyĀ of a book on them. I hadnāt spoken to him about this projectĀ ātill that very day.Ā
In conclusion, Grandads are magical beings of great knowledge and power. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.Ā
