During the year that Voldemort stayed at the Malfoy Manor Draco learned how to become one
To his surprise he was a snake, and not even a big one like nagini, but a smaller one and not venomous
So if everything became to match he would turn into his animugus form and curl up in a pile of blankets or on top of his pillow
When the war was over he still changed into his form, but now to escape the people who despised him. That ex death eater Draco Malfoy didn't get punished for his deeds because Harry Potter spoke up for him
Eventually when he is slithering around in his snake form, he comes across Potter
Who surprisingly hasn't lost his ability to speak parseltongue
So Potter takes him home and makes him a nest after asking Hermione how to take care of a snake
And Draco can't find it in himself to turn back in his normal form.
Because Potter takes care of him and loves him and talks to him. While when he is human everyone just hates him.
Eventually ofcourse the truth comes out when they're out in the forest, it's one of their daily activities cause Hermione said it is good for snakes to have the earth under their belly sometimes
But this time they're attacked by a rogue death eater, one who has escaped the authorities
And so Potter battles him, but the other is too strong. So Draco changes in his human form and with the element of surprise he overpowers the rogue.
Soon the aurors come and take the rogue death eater in and take both Draco and Harry for questioning
When that's done they're both free to go and without a thought they start talking. Cause Harry is just used to talking to his snake and now it seems Draco was his snake so now he is talking to Draco
And this way they become friends and eventually boyfriends and they adopt a pet snake together

âYou know what we should do?â Sirius spoke up, from his spot on the couch.
âPlay a prank?â James answered.
âNoâ Sirius started âwell yes, but not what I meant right now. We should let a portrait be made of usâ.
At this Remus looked up, âThatâs actually not a bad ideaâ.
âWe should do it in our Animagus formsâ James joked âit would be uniqueâ.
âYes, letâs do thatâ both Peter and Sirius agreed straight away.
âUhm guys no, what about meâ Remus narrowed his eyes as three pair of puppy eyes were turned on him, with full pouting lips.
âYou can just say you want a portrait with your pets. Someone needs to be able to talk anywayâ.
âNo, no absolutely not. Itâs not happening, not in a million years- â
âNot in a million years should I have let you three talk me into thisâ Remus said as he stood for the small shop where the portrait would be made.

Remus sighed one last time, before walking inside towards the counter.
âHello how may I help youâ the lady behind it asked.
âYes, I have an appointment to make a portrait with my eh petsâ, at this he gestured behind him.
The lady peeked over the counter, and her eyes widened comically.
âYes, I see, name?â she said, still looking at the animals behind him.
âRemus Lupinâ he answered, smiling politely, hoping to calm her somewhat.
âAh yes I see, you go straight to the door at the end of the hall.â
âThank youâ and with that the four of them started to walk to said door. Upon passing through it they entered a huge room, decorated like a forest. A man stood with his back to them, not turning around yet.
âYou can go ahead and sit down, I will start soonâ he instructed.
Remus frowned lightly, before placing all chairs and such away. All but one stool, at this one he sat down, while James in his stag form took place behind them, Sirius sat down next to him, placing a paw on his knee and Peter on his lap, standing just on two feet.
Finally, the artist turned around, only to gasp straight away.
âThese are your petsâ he asked after gasping like a fish out of water.
âYes sir.â
âYouâre aware your stag wears glassesâ the artist frowned slightly.
âYes, he is one of the few stags who is bad sighted. He needs them to seeâ Remus said, keeping his face blank.
A muttered alright than, and the artist started to paint them. A warning to sit very still.
During the time the portrait was painted the artist slowly warmed up to the strange fellow with unique pets. Commenting how obedient they were, and how he never had done such portrait before.
After several hours it was finally done. A beautiful portrait, of a human and some weird animals.
âThank you so muchâ Remus said, shaking hands with the artist.
âYouâre welcome, enjoy itâ the artist said, before leading them outside.
Once Remus paid for all, they left the building and went home. Here the other three transformed back in their human forms.
âIt truly a beautiful portraitâ James commented, the others nodding along.
âUhu it really shows our characterâ Sirius smiled, while Peter and Remus hang the portrait on the wall.
Finally, they sat down on the couch in front of it.
âIâm never doing this again. Next time one of you will be looked at as the total weird man.â Remus commented.
âOh, Remus we both know you would do it againâ Sirius said, hugging him.
And Remus couldnât help but smile in return, knowing that he indeed would do it again.
