Don't have a tumbr, so using ask to give comments: 1) The manual uses 3d6 (range is 3 to 18), but the points oyu get are 1-20, i.e. d20. Is this intentional? 2) For blend saving throws, what if player is human shaped in the presence of a controller, but in morph as a human (i.e. not their normal body)? 3) for Ellemist roll 51, do you mean Temrash 114 specifically, or whomever is in Tom's skull? I assume you mean the latter, but the former could be interesting, in a book 6 adaptation.
Thank you for the feedback! A few points of clarification:
1. All modifiers (+3 to Blend, -7 to Self-Control, etc.) are modifiers for the result of a roll, not modifiers for the target of a roll. Therefore, there will probably be a fair number of rolls outside of the range of 3 - 18. (Example: rolling Blend +6 and getting a result of 13 means that your total Blend result will be 19.) However, anything above 20 should be treated as 20 and anything below 1 should be treated as 1, to avoid successes/failures becoming ridiculously extreme. I mention this briefly in the well-buried General RPG Rules somewhere, but I should definitely clarify it in order to minimize confusion.
2. For Blend rolls where one is morphed as a human, I figured that the modifiers could stack up with normal Blend + character modifiers + human morph modifiers. So Tobias would be required to roll Blend any time he’s interacting with a human (because human is not his base shape) but would get a +5 bonus to his rolls (because human was his base shape for 13 years) and would get an additional -2 if in the presence of especially striking tastes or smells. So the player using Tobias would roll Blend, add 3 to the result of the Blend roll, and go from there. Ax would also be required to roll Blend any time he’s interacting with a human, but would get no bonuses, and would be at a -2 in the presence of food or strong scents. On a failed Blend check for either of these characters, any civilian observers would assume that this kid is out of control and needs help, while any controller observers would assume that this kid is an andalite in morph.
3. I hadn’t thought about that idea. I almost want to rewrite it as “Temrash 114 and/or the yeerk inside Tom, whichever would be more interesting for the plot,” because I think you’re right that both have potential. If Temrash 114 does end up dead and/or controlling Jake instead, I think it’ll be up to the Ellimist to make a new yeerk to control Tom, using similar stats from the other yeerks.
