Thought I would share the good news: Dagur will return in DreamWorks Dragons season 3 (now titled Dragons: Race to the Edge). This was confirmed by thebrookeofdragons. She also said this: "he is hella fine.”
;) I knew that. I heard… someone else might be showing up too. ;) ;) ;)
Hey, remember me? While I still stick to what I said, I will apologize for my impulse reaction to your post. I guess it was inevitable that I would react to something, as the argument of Disney has been burning a hole on my dashboard. But alas, you have your opinion and I have mine's, so let's end it at that.
I apologize as well, as I have also been annoyed by all the Disney bashing on my dash as of late. You are right, though; we both have different opinions, and that’s that. Best to live and let live instead of fighting about it.
HTTYD2/Dragons TV question (spoliers for obvious reasons): assuming that Dagur is still alive and around somewhere during the events of HTTYD2, what do you think would be his reaction to Stoick's death? How would he process the news that Hiccup is the new chief of Berk? (I kinda have a headcannon in my head that at some point Alvin visits Berk to pay his respects.)
Well, before Dagur was all about: 'Brother Hiccup--you fought and killed a Night fury and saved my life like a boss, yes? Bitchin'. Let me help you kill your daddy so we can be CHIEF brothers together! Fun!"
He had nothing against Stoick, mind you. But he's so uncaring towards human life he would kill someone as a "kindness".
But then Hiccup "betrayed" Dagur, and Dagur certainly had something against Hiccup after that. So I imagine finding out about Stoick's death would be somewhere along the lines of "that's what you get…punk" and "Oh shit! He's got proper power now." Then again, Dagur might be excited by the idea of Hiccup being chief. I can see him going all in on the idea of having a "NEMESIS BROTHER!"
He half wants to declare Berk as an enemy simply out of spite, but he's also rather intelligent and would never attack Hiccup head on after everything. I can see him putting effort into capturing and training his own dragon army… but like a mixture of what Hiccup and Drago did (he'd have everyone in his village get dragons, but they'd employ the 'yell at it' method). Maybe having his own set of dragon trappers… and Eret on Berk being able to recognize and warn Hiccup about the traps they're finding. Ooo lo lo.
I would think that while the jury is MOST definitely out on HTTYD3, it's almost entirely possible that Hans Zimmer may have to fly solo on KFP3 (that is, if he himself isn't too preoccupied on other projects or is joined by another composer).
Yeah... I think so too :/
I mean, us as a fandom adore Powell also because he's stuck with the movie and the content for... what 5 years now? He's pretty familiar with the material, which means he understands the emotion that needs to be conveyed through the music.
When someone new comes onboard, they'll have to learn all this stuff that Powell already has in his experience in scoring for the first two movies. I think that's my biggest worry; that whoever else comes on won't... get it.
But I think Hans Zimmer is more than capable to score KFP3 on his own. Just a pity since Powell seemed to contribute most of the native instrument work.

I just thought up an awesome situation for HTTYD3!Camicazi: Hiccup is critically wounded (with Toothless nowhere to be found). Astrid is at his side as the big bad is about the bring their blade down on both of them. All of a sudden, a saber appears out of nowhere and deflects the strike. In comes Camicazi, in all her pirate glory, saber pointed right at the villain as she shouts "Don't you DARE hurt my friends!" :3
And then Hiccup lifts his head with great effort and says:
"You’re not my friend, you’re my client!"
Woah, you saw HTTYD2? Was it a premiere or some kind of special screening you went to?
I did. It was a pre-screening I guess? qwertyfonz had an extra ticket, he's a godsend and offered it to me (we actually live pretty close) and… yeah. Yep. Yes. It happened.
Random thought: if Camicazi were brought into the HTTYD movie-verse, what would she sound like? And who would you want to voice her? I think they could go two ways with it. Either they can play her as being of a UK analogue (Karen Gillan or Emma Watson) or go the route of fitting her with the American cast (Shailene Woodley or Molly Quinn).
Oh gosh, I'm terrible at voice picking. I don't know what anyone sounds like. I do think Karen might be too older sounding and Emma is too light/sweet.
To be honest, I've only really imagined Chloë Grace Mortez to voice her. But I could also be swayed by looks. XD
