They insist that the props be "destroyed" specifically because of the people you see posting here. Grown ass adults who would happily have gone dumpster diving and hurt themselves to rescue a few pieces of cloth to keep under their pillow. It's a neurosis that you can get when kids are abandoned at a certain age and don't interact with their parents as much as fictional or fake characters.

90% of the time these kids were raised as only children by parents who used Showtime Pizza as a babysitting service every day while they worked/shopped/chatted with their girlfriends. The kids grew up thinking of those freakish dead-eyed monsters were members of their family, and often they were the only "people" in the kid's life that actually seemed to care about them or talk to them.

Of course, this had been being done with TV for decades already, but dumping your kid in front of the TV was considered gauche and abusive by the 80s... but dropping them off at Chucks or Showtime every Saturday and Sunday, ALL friggin day? "Man, you're soooo lucky!" <--- me when a kid at school told me about that deal.

Looking at this freak-show, I definitely don't feel that way now. I'm glad my parents loved me enough to take me on nature walks, to the library, to my sports games and my music recitals... I can safely say I don't weep when I think about any aspect of my childhood.

Because yeah, that IS sad... just not sad the way everybody here thinks.
