Meet Jasmine Kouri! Word on the street is that she bears a striking resemblance to Medalion Rahimi. She’s a Gender Studies Grad Student at WDPA. Currently, she’s taken.

Born to Iranian ambassadors stationed in Dubai, Jasmine’s always had a love for seeing the world and traveling with her parents. She’s fluent in many languages, her top three being English, Arabic, and French and she loves confusing people by pretending she knows how to speak only one.

Jasmine was always known to be an adventurous and headstrong little girl, often sneaking out of their luxurious home in Dubai, to explore the world around her. Much to her parents’ chagrin, she was headstrong and opinionated, often voicing the injustices around them and rallying for those that couldn’t speak up for themselves.

This voice only grew and when it came time for her to start looking for suitors in order to get married, Jasmine Kouri put her foot down once again, claiming that she was not a prize to be won nor the property of a man. Her parents knew that her headstrong personality could be a danger for her at home and they granted their daughter’s wish to not marry, but instead study abroad in sunny Santa Monica.

→ The Road So Far.

After years being spent under the California sun, Jasmine’s parents often tease that she’s become more American by the day. She’s often pictured out in the sun, riding her bike, or trying new foods around the city. She enjoys the drastic change of her life as she feels that she’s grown more into herself and into her own voice.

She enjoys her freedom to do whatever she wants, within reason, and after graduating in gender studies and political science, she’s a TA for her gender studies class and is an acclaimed intern for the Santa Monica Times.

Of course, now that she’s towards the midpoint of her 20s, her parents are beginning to put more pressure into getting married and it’s beginning to stress the young woman out. She personally doesn’t feel any less of a woman, any less of a human, if she’s single and successful.

Chaos is Brandon’s middle name. There’s no line that they don’t find joy in crossing, especially if it means making everyone around them question their every move. They come across as helpful, listening to everyone’s qualm and fear, storing it all for future use. It’s easy to trust that face, that smile, but as soon as you do, that’s when the danger really settles in - because you’ll never know what Brandon will do with that information.

“You have a wonderful smile” was all Brandon heard growing up. No one knew if it was real or what mischief was hidden behind those pearly whites, but they couldn’t deny that it looked good. It was no surprise to their parents when Brandon pursued dentistry; it made perfect sense. They spends his days helping give everyone that perfect grin - a grin you’ll never forget…no matter how hard you try.

→ Once Upon A Time.

Alana is the second oldest of The Triton Seven, as they’ve dubbed themselves, and is known as the fashionista of the sisters. She always admired her mother putting on her makeup everyday before work and between that and the countless Vogue magazines, she knew that fashion was her calling.

With her mother passing, it added strain between her and Attina. Attina no longer was the best friend she could go to, instead, she took on the role of surrogate mother, making Alana the eldest sister that the girls needed. It was a struggle, but she made due with what she had.

This didn’t deter her from fashion, however. Instead, she used fashion to express herself through her outfits, catching the attention of many talent scouts, aspiring fashion designers, and more. She was born to be a trendsetter, after all.

→ The Road So Far.

When Alana got her first fashion gig, most of them were for swimsuit magazines and on the beach...this led to her always having to rely on anti migraine and anti nausea medication to get herself through the sickness. It wasn’t until Arielle discovered the secret behind the migraines and sickness--and let’s just say finding out she was a mermaid was a shock to the system.

Now that she’s moved up the fashion world, having to hide her mermaid self isn’t too hard now that she can avoid the beach. However...her longing for the sea almost always pulls her back for a midnight swim. She knows she can’t hide that part of herself for too long.

While Alana continues to work her way up to supermodel status, she still continues to feel a disconnect between her and Attina, after all these. years. She really, truly hopes she can reconcile what they used to have before their lives draw them apart.

As tensions rise amongst the islanders and the new comers, as the political leaders try to get a grip on everything, something odd is lurking beneath the island and slowly but surely people are starting to notice the changes. What will these characters do? Come help decide.
