Truth is, whether you buy at a supermarket or a local butcher, unless you yourself are raising and slaughtering the animal (which by the way, still serves as no justification), no one can really be sure WHERE it comes from or how long that innocent animal has been deceased. These companies don't care about the consumer any more than they care about the animals. They have no problem labeling spoiled meat as "fresh" and charging you top dollar for it.
