Animal Crossing: New Horizons Brick Path Tutorial
Animal Crossing: New Horizons Brick Path Tutorial
With each step you finished and like how it looked, save the design there. So if you mess up you can just exit and not save!
Step One:
You are first going to start with laying out the foundation of the pattern. This will be the brick shapes. 7 white squares tall and 15 white square wide.
Why is the so important? Doing this will save you a LOT of trouble later. This very first pieces you create will help you with every other piece of your path. Getting the brick layout done correctly, will ensure that all the bricks will lay out on your path. I do mine horizontal but see no reason why you cannot go the other way.
Step Two:
The line that we made in the last step will tend to be the darkest color out of all of them you use. I tend to use gray and very dull colors. In this step I pick that in between the bricks the be a dusty, dull pink. I wouldÂ
Next, I started to start shading and designing how the bricks themselves are going to look. For this design I am going for a more cartoon look with this style. Now this step you can do any kind of design and shading. This part is a major trail and error till you get a look you like.
Step Three:
As you are filling out your shading, you can play and fix the colors as needed. Here I have tones of pinks and purples. Also, if you are able to. Pick out all the colors you want to use in any of the pieces you are using. This is because when you copy and past this path, it will already have all the colors you are using.
Step Four:Â
Fix and edit anything that you need to! Such as colors or if you don’t like the design, clean out the middle of the bricks and start again. This can take a long time if you are playing around with styles and themes.
This is the finished product of the finished brick above. However, there is still stuff that you can do if you want to do something extra. Here is another design below.
I had added cherry blossom petals in-between the bricks. For this design I did have to change the color and hues of the bricks, because just switching to gray did not look right.
The more that you play around with everything you start to get an understanding of how everything works and what looks good. That and you can create something more complex. Here is something else that I have made below.
Now drawling water might look hard, but its not, its just VERY time consuming. If you look closely at the you can see how the blue colors intersects with each other. I choice to have a blue green tint water. However as long as you know the method, you can even create a chocolate river.
Something to keep in mind, the more complex you are making your path, the more pieces of the path you are going to have. An example is the water path above. Its a 42pc path. I do not have much room left for other custom patterns for my town. However, I am in love with my path!
