Whump Prompt #1717
Submitted by @swimmingturkeycrossointrebel - thanks!
Whumper has a “pet” animal chosen solely because the whumpee has a phobia of it. The whumper lets it loose and/or sets it on their victim as an immediate reaction to anything the whumpee does that they don’t like.
YOU’VE BEEN 🐨 KOALA’D!!!
@kayzedrawz.
Maulers (2012)
The Beast of Devon (2013)
TIL that although we are warned to be most afraid of a mother bear and her cubs, nearly 90% of fatal bear attacks are at the paws of lone male bears. (x)

The mousepads are back in stock and I will be bringing as many with me to Desucon Frostbite as I can carry (spoilers, not many). Come grab yours before they disappear again!
I’ll probably sell a few online after the con so international people stay tuned!
Forest whump is fun, so many possibilities
- Whumpee accidentally eating something poisonous or not being able to find food
- Whumpee getting attacked by an animal, or just being afraid of animal attacks
- Whumpee accidentally stepping into a bear trap
- Whumpee falling into a ravine or a river. Especially a cold river, and then having to warm up. Their clothes are wet now, that's one less thing that can help them keep warm.
- Maybe it's winter and whumpee gets hypothermia or frostbite or just a cold. They're far away from any medical help, and they don't even have shelter. They just curl up against a tree, no protection from the snow, hoping someone will come help them. ):
- Maybe it's summer and they get heat stroke. Their vision going dark, body not responding and just collapsing, they try to get somewhere safer but their legs give out and they can't get back up or even move out of the sun that keeps making it worse.
- Just the panic of being lost can be great emotional whump. Whumpee realizes they're going in circles, or they've gone too far away from their starting point and are even more lost now ):
- Pretty much any injury can get a lot worse with no medical attention. Even a small scrape can get infected and make whumpee sick and hurt so much.
- Maybe Whumpee tries to give themself medical care, but they don't have the necessary knowledge or equipment, and it might even get worse.
- Maybe Whumpee finds someone who will help them, but when they try to go back home they don't let them leave. Now they have to figure out how to escape, and survive without help this time, and somehow find their way back home, all without being caught.
Photos show ‘vicious’ moment dog attacks seal in West London
According to reports, the dog, which was off its leash, sprinted across the shoreline of the Thames and mauled the seal on a slipway.
The dog reportedly clamped its jaws on the seal and wouldn't let go.
Members of the public who were passing by held down the seal as they waited for animal rescue services to arrive, after which the two animals were separated.
Putney residents had previously been enjoying the seal’s company for a number of weeks after it began sun bathing at low tide on the river near Hammersmith bridge.
Duncan Phillips, 55, who was photographing the seal when the incident began, said: “It was quite a vicious attack.
"The dog just wouldn’t let go."
Mr Philips added the dog was off its lead, and "the owner was shouting for it come back."
He said: “It wouldn’t let go despite repeated attempts by members of the public to separate the animals.”
Thankfully a vet was on hand and was able to stabilise the seal as a member of the public called an animal sanctuary.

Sadly the seal’s injuries were so severe it had to be euthanised.
Please keep dogs under control around wildlife. Attacks on wild animals like this happen all too often. A lot of owners seem to think their dog wouldn’t possibly attack another animal but even the friendliest dog can have prey drive and should be leashed around wildlife and livestock.
