Half-equine women. Potentially wealth hoarders, potentially the result of a goddess' vengeful curse.
Anggitay are creatures from Philippine mythology. Said to have the lower half of a horse, and the upper half of a woman they were similar to the Greek Centaur, except for the fact that they were exclusively female.Â
They were said to be the female counterpart to the Tikbalang, a creature thought to lurk in the forests and appearing as a bony, humanoid with horse-like features and excessively long limbs.

Anggitay

[I’ve done a few monsters from Philippine mythology in the past, but am somewhat intimidated by the scope. Each island may have multiple cultures, each with their own take on the same basic concept. Separating ghouls, viscera-suckers and cigar smoking giants may go by a dozen different names, and the same name can be used to refer to a bunch of different monsters (”aswang”, for example, can be a ghoul, vampire, werewolf, witch, demon or all of the above, and may be explicitly alive or explicitly undead, depending on who’s telling the tale). So I in no way claim that these are the be-all and end-all of monstrous interpretations for these concepts.
Take for example the anggitay. I found references to them being a singular cursed human, in a very Greek mythology like “individual mortal pisses off a god”. I found references to them being a species. I found references to them being females of the tikbalang. Primary sources are thin on the ground. Which one do I choose? I mixed and matched a little bit, and added my own stuff.]
Anggitay CR 3 CN Monstrous Humanoid This creature looks something like a small centaur, its head and torso humanoid and its body that of a pony. A single horn grows from its forehead, and it carries a bow and arrows.
Anggitay are small, more magical kin to centaurs. They also tend to be less benevolent and greedier than the average centaur. Some legends claim that their ancestors were originally human, cursed into a monstrous form to make it more difficult for the anggitay to steal from others and get away with it. Angittay themselves dissuade such talk, often while picking the pocket of the one telling the story. They are fleet of foot and can magically pass through barriers, hazards and traps, often laughing all the while.
Most anggitay live alone or in small bands, avoiding large organizations and complex societies. They rarely own more than they can carry, but delight in material wealth. Typically this takes the form of gemstones and jewelry. They are omnivores, feeding on fruits, fungi and small game hunted by bow and arrow. Anggitay are surprisingly good climbers, and often feel safer nestled in the branches of a large tree, where they keep watch and sleep. Some anggitay are lured into the city by the promise of riches, and these often join thieves’ guilds or use their speed to hire themselves as couriers.
Anggitay advance by class level, with most of them taking levels in ranger or rogue. Divine spellcasting is more common than arcane among them.
Monster Match #27: Anggitay
The Traveler's MasterlistÂ
For @fudgefrootloops: "My name is Amethyst, I’m pan black female and use she/they pronouns. I’m pretty chill and love taking care of my s/o with cuddles, cookies and video games. I tend to fall for the strong silent type that just need cuddles when no one is looking. I’m a home body but need a push to go out and explore once I do I go crazy and try everything I can. Gender doesn’t matter and sfw/nsfw mix would be wonderful."
You’ve been matched with an Anggitay!
The Anggitay was reported from the city of Batangas in the  Philippines by the late Aproniano G. Castillo. Seen from in front, it is a beautiful maiden from head to foot, but from behind it is a haggard mare. They are sometimes depicted as having a single horn in the middle of their forehead, just like a unicorn. It sits in a tree in a wood and quietly watches wayfarers go by. Â
She was quiet and reserved, but that’s why you liked her. When she did speak, her words had weight. She had a deep, melodious voice, and you thought she might sound beautiful when she sang. She was too shy to sing, though.
You met her on a vacation to the Philippines, sitting in a tree and watching your group hike through the forest. She was on edge, and it took you a short time to realize that she was hurt, having been pushed out of her territory by larger Anggitays. Her kind wasn’t usually aggressive unless their territory was threatened, and she had lost hers in a battle with two larger sisters. She’d been injured in the fight, and you had offered her help and comfort.

Redrew a character I made on Ghoul Kiss' Monster Girl 2 game
Love Mythos: Sanctuary Island, a gay AF game made by gay AF devs
What is Love Mythos: Sanctuary Island and why should you check out its free demo or it’s Kickstarter? Let me (the writer of the game) take you on the tour of my bouncing baby brainchild that is yet another monster dating game.
Love Mythos is a visual novel and puzzle game about dating eight mythological creatures on a magic island. Centaurs? Check. Harpies? Check. Possible Polyamorous cross-species triad? Check. You want it, we probably got it.
But besides having eight yummy and slightly damaged love interests for you, the heart of Love Mythos is its reflection of the real world we live in. Sure, perhaps it’s a little strange to explore that with mythical hybrids, but art is funny like that.
The characters in LM are diverse because the world around us is diverse. Their skin color, body types, personalities, and style are meant to reflect all the beautiful combinations that people can come in. And their struggles are just as varied. While one might be wondering if it’s ever possible to have a destiny after losing everything they had been training for, another might be suffering from PTSD due to captivity. Even the player character must overcome their feelings of otherness and fear after their world is turned upside down. We at Squid Sins Squad believe that EVERYONE should be able to see themselves lovingly reflected in the media they consume. Although there are so many more beautiful and worthy variants of souls we couldn’t fit in, these are our current love interests!
And, if we hit our stretch goals on our Kickstarter you might also get to meet: A Polynesian cyclops who also happens to be a proud transwomanÂ
A sentient and very charming gorilla
Or a slime girl from Russia who may or may not be radioactive!Â
The game itself plays as a visual novel with branching dialogue, branching paths and (currently) nineteen different endings.Â
There’s also a minigame to play and progress yourself along with the story. Our goal is to have a decent length experience with high replay value that makes you cry at least once. Hopefully twice, because writers are evil.Â
Oh...
and did we mention the pr0n?
After playing a whole lot of ero or ecchi games with not a lot of substance, I was inspired to write erotica that was actually good! Stuff where everyone gets enjoyment out of it and realistically so, rather than everything being viewed from a decidedly male and heterosexual lense. Currently, all of our sex scenes ware written to work with whatever plumbing, gender or pronoun set the Player Character is using, but one of our stretch goals does include anatomy specific sex scenes.Â
The Squid Sins Squad is pretty sex-positive and just wants people to get their jollies in all the wonderful ways that are (consensually) possible~~~ So get in, play around, and maybe get in *wink*
But for those of you who doing the down and dirty isn’t your bag, that’s alright too! All adult content can be turned off and there are endings for being friends with everyone! Ace and Aro folks are more than welcome at our table!
So that is, by the long and short of it, why you should give Love Mythos: Sanctuary Island a good, hard look. Our FREE demo is here And our Kickstarter is here! We’re 54% of the way there, but we still need your support to make it the rest of the way!Â
See you on the other side~
