Weretober 2025: Folklore
Its a Tikbalang with a hint of Nightmare.
binatang tikbalang
For @littlepryingpandorica (and anyone else wondering about the post):
Okay, so the folklore is that if someone manages to pluck one of the three golden strands from the mane of a Tikbalang (tall, upright, bipedal creature with a humanoid body and the head and feet of a horse; they can also shapeshift into a human), they become bound to them and must obey their commands.
Basically, in this modern AU, Cole is a Tikbalang, while Jay is just a tourist who accidentally wanders into his domain. While trying to escape Cole's grasp, Jay somehow manages to yank out one of Cole's golden strands. Now, much to Cole's annoyance, he's magically obligated to obey Jay's orders⦠begrudgingly.
Alternatively, after hearing the story from a local (they're visiting a PH-esque land lol), Kai dares Jay to pluck one of the Tikbalang's golden strands. Jay immediately takes it as a challenge. Armed with absolutely nothing except bad decisions and misplaced confidence, he heads into the forest alone. Somehow, it works. And now, Cole has to deal with it.
Oh yeah, how can I forget⦠devious monsterf*cker!Jay, because why not?
if you think about it, a lot of Filipino mythological creatures have a domain expansion like the chokoy or the tikbalang or the kapre, a lot of them transports or traps you in a place. I don't have a fanfiction writer mind but like if any fanfic writers wrote one pls tell me cause I wanna know how would nanami fight a tikbalang and also read a part where nanami has to take off his shirt and wear it inside out and flash his hot abs and big ti
