smth I value so much is Hershel/Randall/Angela, even in a platonic setting are. such a trio. for as much as they have their duo moments they're also just SO INSEPARABLE TOGETHER?? So much of their tap dialog is reminiscing or planning to do a thing together/go somewhere together, Dalston explicitly calls out the "Best Friends Forever" act. Its. Ough. Hershel is attached to the hip of this VERY LONG TERM couple and they don't have an issue with it. Angela always seems to tag along with established best friends and not once do they seem discontent about it. Randall is so visibly planning to purpose to Angela soon, but also (alongside Angela! btw! She does this too!) is so visibly urging Hershel to stay with him? Wherever he and Angela end up, Hershel should be there too? LITERALLY WHAT IS THE MONOGAMOUS EXPLANATION FOR THIS. RIDDLE ME THAT BATMAN. Idk I just think its so cute how the game never fails to show you how much they enjoy this group dynamic.

I think if it weren't for the guilt Hershel feels for Randall, he wouldn't need to preface his relationship with Angela as 'complicated', because there's still such a warmth to their interactions- there's still love and respect and cherishing of that shared history years after it was supposedly damaged irreparably. Complicated but the minute you see each other again your eyes lock on each other and you're all you can focus on? Complicated but the minute she's switched you can notice it instantly because the slightest thing is off in a way she never could be? and you know that to be true even after all this time? Complicated and yet so many people in Monte d'Or know that you could only be there for her? at Mrs.Ledore's beck and call? Complicated but she never ONCE doubted you to be the right person to contact? Always held faith that your loyalty was pure and undying? At the very least I don't think they ever stopped seeing each other as one of their closest friends.
