Demon Pines. (Or something I donât even know anymore)
 Pine Tree
Dipper would be one of those demons (Dream or Otherwise) that would make you terrified of who you are. Dipper would throw in all these hints and clues and turn everything into a giant mystery for you to solve. The mystery is layer upon layer and youâll go mad trying to answer it all, and aim to make deals with the very being who set this whole thing up. Dipper is a demon that will make you go insane. The one who makes you doubt yourself, turns you against everyone you know, and is always, always whispering in your ear, making you worse than you were before. Dipper is the little devil on your right shoulder, aiming to convince you that he is right.
 Shooting Star
Mabel on the other hand, is the anti-demon (for lack of a better term) the one who aims to right and fix everything Dipper does. Sheâs the one who helps you solve her brotherâs mysteries, though she is unable to tell you any answers, forcing you to figure it all out yourself. Mabel is the one who fixes the damage Dipper does to your mind and helps you repair your life. Although she canât do anything once you set up a deal, she will try to talk you out of it, though she has limited influence and it is up to you. Where Dipper is the one who makes you doubt yourself, Mabel is the angel on your left whispering to you, trying to distract you from Dipper on the right.
 A little Extra Info.
Though they are on different sides of the spectrum, the two twins are still very close and have a strong bond. Each twin represents a side of the coin, heads or tails, abstract vs logical, pride and modesty. In their demon forms Dipper is represented as a blue Pine tree, and Mabel as a gold star with purple, blue, green and orange trails coming off it. The symbols are still represented in their human forms with Dipper having a cap with his on and Mabel having hers on a Sweater. The two are incredibly powerful, with Dipper having a tad more than Mable.
And that is what I came up with! Mabel isnât exactly a demon but I donât think she would be one anyway. Her character would be more focused on undoing what Dipper did. I am so done with this anyway.

[Enter Mabel!]
parts: 1 | 2 | 3Â | 4
His sister, Mabel, had told him she had missed heaven when she was finishing up her final test but most of all she had missed him. Dipper just thought she was being sentimental like always but here he was longing for home and his sisterâs company. She had just gotten her halo before he received his assignment. They had celebrated and just stared at the golden ring above her head for what felt like hours.
âItâs funny because I donât really know what I want to do next,â he remembers her telling him. âI feel different, like, almost complete and I just want to do so many things but I canât decide what.â
Then they were quiet as they watched the lights of the cities of earth twinkle down below.
He missed his sister so much.
He liked being Wendyâs guardian angel. He liked being on earth. Sometimes he just wished he could have Mabel around. She knew what to do without even trying. It all came easy to Mabel.
After the dream eater episode, Dipper just grew to doubt his capabilities. It was days before he was up to full strength, exorcising the beast had taken too much out of him. He could barely fly and he had to toddle after Wendy as fast as he could. It was like he was a fledgling all over again.
Thankfully nothing else strange had happened and no visits from a certain dream demon either.
âPAY DAY! GATHER âROUND!â a loud gravelly voice called out inside the house part of the Mystery Shack.
Wendy grinned as she and Soos milled over.
Dipper followed, smiling a bit as he took out his writing stuff.
Today is Wendyâs first pay dayâŚ
He looked up and gasped as Wendyâs boss looked over his employees in an expression that looked a lot like constipation, behind him was a pair of wings. Pink wings.
âUghâŚdespite my better judgement,â Wendyâs boss began, looking almost ill. âHereâs a little extra for all your hard work.â
Soos grinned as his boss handed him and Wendy money. âOh wow! Thank you Mr. Pines!â
âYeah yeah whatever, now if youâll excuse me I gotta go talk with McGucket about a thing,â Mr. Pines grumbled as he turned away. As soon as he did he revealed who the owner of the pink wings were.
Dipperâs eyes widened. âMabel?â
Mabel looked to him and grinned. âDipper!â
He ran up to her, his face broken into a big smile. âWhat are you doing here?â
âI just started my new assignment today!â She poked her charge on the back before giggling. âBoop! Iâm gonna make him a better person.â
âSo the reason he gave them extra moneyâŚâ
âAll me!â
Dipper just stared at her, impressed. âI know we can influence and guideâŚbut I didnât think it worked like that.â
âYou just gotta know what youâre doing. Thatâs all.â She watched her chargeâs retreating figure. âI gotta go Dip but weâll talk later, okay?â
âYeah! Later!â
âOh and Dip?â
âHm?â He turned back before almost getting knocked over by his sister in a hug.
âI missed you!â
âMissed you too,â he sighed returning the hug.
Today was turning out to be a good day.
==
It was another slow day at the gift shop. Dipper wondered if there was a science to when tourists came to visit the Mystery Shack. Oh, well, at least Wendy didnât look too bored as sheâd smile every now and then randomly.
I wonder what sheâs thinking aboutâŚ
âSo how goes it, broseph?â
Dipper let out a surprised squeak before turning to his sister. âShouldnât you be with Mr. Pines?â
âOh Stan? Ha heâs taking an old person nap right now, weâre good.â
He bit his lip.
âOh stop worrying Dipper! Itâs okay!â
âOkay,â he finally relented, still worried.
âI swear, youâre gonna lose all your feathers before you even get your halo.â
Dipper rolled his eyes. âYeah yeah.â
âNow tell me everything! I want to know about how youâre doing!â
Smiling despite himself, Dipper began to fill in his sister on what he had gone through. Details about a certain demon were embellishedâŚhe didnât know what Mabel would think and he didnât really want to know either. She didnât always follow the book but demons are serious no matter what and one taking an interest in him? Nope she didnât need to know.
âYou kicked a giant freakish dream eaterâs butt? Holy cosmos!â Mabelâs pink wings flapped in her excitement. âIâve met a dream eater but it wasnât anything like the one you beat up! It was kinda cute and nice.â
âI-I didnât beat it up I just kinda chanted at it and well, my holiness did the work?â
âAww you donât have to be so humble, baby bro,â she cooed before pinching his cheek.
âYeah, no, youâre not allowed to call me that.â
âWhateverrrr!â she blew a raspberry. âSo anything else exciting happened?â
âNo, not really.â
He watched as Wendy began clocking out. Mabel hummed beside him so he looked back at her.
âWhat?â
Mabel shrugged. âNothing justâŚitâs cute how dedicated you are,â she giggled. âMakes me wonder what you wouldâve done if Stan was the one you had to follow around.â
Dipper felt himself flush. âWhatever.â
âJust saying.â
She got up from her spot on the counter. âI gotta go, I can feel the old man waking up.â
Dipper stood up. âOkayâŚI guess Iâll see you later?â
âOf course!â Mabel grinned. âIâm not gonna miss anymore of your cool adventures.â
âJust remember you have a job.â
His sister waved him off. âI told you donât worry about it. Management can be scary but theyâre actually really laid back.â
âAnd how would you know that?â
She rolled her eyes. âJust learn to relax. Itâs a test but itâs not worth losing feathers over, okay?â
âJust get back to work.â
Mabel stuck her tongue at him. âYou get back to work!â
Then the two shared a laugh.
--
It was nice having Mabel around.
The two of them hung out and chatted like Wendy and Soos would during lunch breaks. It was just nice to have someone that acknowledged your existence but it was even better it being your best friend.
One day he confessed to her how heâd sometimes think about actually talking to Wendy.
âDo it!â
Dipper frowned. âWhat?â
Mabel looked serious, well as serious as she could with her practically permanent wide smile. She just repeated herself, her (today) purple wings fluttering excitedly.
âFirst of all, no and second of all how would that even be possible? I thought the point of being a guardian angel is to protect without directly being there.â
His sister just sighed. âYeah but youâre still an angel and angels can interact with humans.â
Dipper furrowed his brow. âI think I read something about that but I thought it was only important angels who can do that stuff.â
âNope! Iâve done it before it was fun!â She looked thoughtful. âIt just takes a lot out of you, is all.â
âOh.â
She leaned in close. âIf you wanna do itâŚI can teach you but only if you want, Mister-stickler-to-the-rules.â
Dipper leaned back and looked down.
There was a way to hang out with Wendy but was it worth it? That exorcism left him wiped out and if being able to interact with would take a lot out of him he could be in the same state or worse. What if Wendy needed him and he couldnât do anything to help? Heâd fail his test and it was all because he gave into his own selfishness.
He shook his head. âNah.â
Mabel shrugged. âOkayâŚbut if you change your mind Iâll be happy to teach you.â
Dipper gave her a weak smile.
âOkay then back to work!â She straightened out her white dress. âTalk to you later, Dip.â
He nodded. âLater.â
Watching his sister go he couldnât help but wonder when or why she had decided to use her ability to be seen by people. Who had taught her? Was it something she discovered herself?
âSheâs always been good at everything,â he muttered to himself.
âWhoâs good at what now?â
Dipper started then glared at the floating triangle in front of him. âYou need to stop that!â
Bill just squinted his single eye in amusement. âMaybe you need to be more observant? I thought that was your jobâŚbeing observant, watching, yâknow that kind of stuff.â
The angel glared at the demon. âWhat do you want?â
âBeen feeling another presence lately and itâs a lot like yours only not so I thought Iâd check with you,â he floated close to Dipperâs face. âSo whatcha got, Angel-face?â
Boldly (for him), Dipper pushed Bill away from his face. âWhy do you need to know?â
Bill sighed. âTell me or not Iâll find out. I always find out.â
Dipper frowned. âItâs another angel.â
He watched the demon take in the information. His single eye shifted for a moment, the pupil going right to left as what Dipper assumed was him thinking. âAh I see. Thanks for telling me!â
âWhatever it takes for you to leave me alone.â
Bill started to revolve around his head. âAww donât deny you like having me around, Feathers. I am pretty charismatic. Even angels fall for my charms.â
Dipper just rolled his eyes.
âYou got what you want, demon.â
âOh, I love it when you try to talk like you have authority.â Bill laughed, âI guess I do have errands to run. Talk to you again soon.â
The demon made his exit and Dipper groaned.
âWhat happened to flying away, Dipper?â his wings moved to shield him and he stared at the feathers in front of him.
Getting used to a demonâs presence was not a good thing.
Wondering when they would come again wasnât good either.
