Pearl looked around nervously as she sat beside an unconsious Garnet. Amethyst and Steven had gone on ahead to face off the monster that had somehow caught their leader unaware. Pearl was certain that Garnet was more stunned than actually hurt. It took more than that to take Garnet down. She just needed to catch her breath, so to speak."I know I say it a lot but you’re…you’re so very incredible," she felt herself smile a little. Their situation wasn’t good. She would’ve preferred Steven stay behind not go after the monster but he had dashed off before she could get a word in with Amethyst right behind him. Part of her knew Garnet would be fine but she felt better being there for when she woke up. "Honestly, after all these years I will never be unimpressed by you."She always admired Garnet. She was always strong and sure. Wise and willing to listen to others. A slight blush powdered her cheeks as she sat closer, slowly moving to hold one of her hands. Her thumb stroked one of the gems embedded in Garnet’s palm. “It’s hard to admit but I’m scared about what we may face in the future.” She sighed as her uncertain thoughts about the home-world surfaced her mind. "I-I feel like we can handle it but I just," she sighed. "I’m scared."The feeling of a hand holding hers brought her out of her thoughts, startling her for a moment."O-oh! Garnet! You’re awake you’re-""We’re going to be fine," Garnet interrupted. "Whatever we face, we’ll face together. We always find a way."A prickling sensation came over Pearl’s eyes but she quickly rubbed at them before regaining her composure to smile and nod. “You’re right. I have faith in us.”"Good." Garnet returned the smile before her expression grew serious. "We have to go and help the others."Pearl’s face turned equally serious. “Let’s go!”

It’s an odd conflicting feeling that comes over him as he makes his way home from the Marsh household. His family are fine and happily going on and on about water balloon fights while he silently walks in the rear, eyes to the sidewalk. He thinks about the evening and the past few days since he’s moved to this town. But mostly he thinks about Stan Marsh and how he had hoped the two of them could have been friends.Why did his religion have to get in the way of friendship? Was it really that bothersome to have differing beliefs? He had heard his friend Kyle was Jewish so that couldn’t really be it could it? He pushes the mild irritation away at high and mighty tone Stan held as he talked to him and his family. It’s not worth it, Gary.Gary bids his family goodnight and heads up his room to get ready for bed. His stomach rumbles slightly but he ignores it as he continues getting dressed in pajamas, mind still elsewhere. His eyes drift over to his trashcan where shavings of leather are thrown about and for a moment he blames himself for ruining a possible relationship. He had been too much? Too friendly. Too happy. Too this too that.Sitting on his bed he fiddles with his thumbs.He’d confront Stan tomorrow. He wasn’t too much of anything all he ever did was tried to be his friend. He in no way tried to convert him or his family. Getting spat on by him because of Mormonism didn’t feel good either. He didn’t care about that…"I just wanted to be your friend," he murmured to no one. "Why couldn’t you just be mine back?"

"I died again. That hasn’t happened for a while, huh?" He lets out a sad chuckle that quietly dies, "not like you’d remember."The body beside him is quiet, curled on their side. No replies there. Kenny just turns his attention to the ceiling, squinting in the darkness. He could just imagine Butters’ response of “what’re ya talkin’ about, Ken?” and although he was used to it by now he just didn’t want to deal with that. It was royally unfair how no one fucking remembered and yet…"I’m glad you don’t remember even though sometimes it would be nice to have a little bit of some concern but I get it," he licks his lips as he pauses. "It’s not your fault that you can’t recall me getting mowed down by that truck today."The wind had blown Butters’ scarf unto the street and he had quickly ran to retrieve it. As he stood up a truck seemingly came out of nowhere and splat. He didn’t get to catch Butters’ reaction but he’d wager it wasn’t pleasant. "It’s happened a lot y’know…me dying? But mostly when we were kids." Kenny lets out a long yawn, blinking sleepily. "S’ok though cuz I always come back."He sighs again before turning on his side to get settled. He was tired. Dying and coming back to life really took its toll.Beside him Butters tries not to hitch his breath. In his hands he clutches the bloody scarf from earlier that day under the sheets, unsure now of what to think.

The dream demon huffed internally. Possession gone wrong really didn’t suit him but here he was. Stuck. Stuck and unable to be unstuck for a while to one Dipper Pines. Aka a neurotic mess that won’t go to sleep. The bombarding words and thoughts about the book he was currently reading didn’t help either. He didn’t care about some would-be sleuths finding out about who stole all the pickles from their cousin twice removed. Why was any of this interesting? “Go to sleep,” he commanded once more. He needed to rest and maybe he’d be freed from this boy’s annoying body. “For the love of all the cosmos please go to sleep, Pinetree!”"Shh! I almost got this," he muttered outloud while clicking his pen. "If I find out before they do then I’ll feel super awesome."If he wasn’t so tired he’d find the answer in a snap and blow it out the boy’s brain but alas he was powerless. Powerless and stuck. No teasing for him.

"O-Oh Hamburgers! Slow down!" Butters cried out as he stumbled beside his companion.He looked down at this feet only to catch a glimpse of many pairs of feet behind them getting closer. Butters looked back up in a panic only to yelp as black shapes began to materialize in front of them."C’mon," his companion held him closer, tighter as they picked up more speed.The black things were closing in on them, furious and fast.Butters simply shut his eyes close. Nope. No. Uh uh.Only…where was his feet standing on? He hesitantly opened his eyes only to cry out in alarm. They were in the air…the stranger beside him must’ve leaped into the air! Only they weren’t coming down anytime soon."Straigten your legs and start walking, babe." Brown eyes met blue. Butters swallowed as he did as instructed. He was walking on air! He couldn’t help but laugh."See? You’re a natural."
