——    ✰        tucking   his   hands   into   his   jackets   pockets ,  he   plops   himself   down   next   to   his   friend   as   he   offers   him   a   smile   &   a  quick   greeting ,  however  he   can   tell   immediately   that   something   is   off   with   him ,  that   he’s   not   exactly   peppy.     a   small   noise   leaves   him   as   he   thinks   of   what   to   say ,  being   quiet   for   a   few   moments. 

❛     hey   steven ,    are   you    doing    okay   ?     ❜

——    ✰        is   it   weird   to   ask   another   version   of    yourself   if   he’s   doing   okay  ?   it   honestly   feels   pretty   strange   to   just   say   his   own   name   when   he’s   consoling   another   person --  it   makes   him   feel   like   he’s   talking   to   himself   almost.   &   i   guess   in   a   way   he   is --  but   it’s   still   kind   of   weird   nonetheless. 

——    ✰        his   bright   blue   eyes   focus   on   steven   as   he   awaits   an   answer --   unsure   if   he   crossed   a   boundary   by   asking   that   question   or   not.   yeah ,  it   was   abrupt ,  but   astro   wanted   to   make   all   of   his   friends   &  family   happy.   steven   wasn’t   gonna   be   left   out. 

“My Diamond I....” Jasper began, but found herself at a loss for words. This is what she’d wanted three, maybe four years now.....no. This is what she’d wanted for thousands of years now. Ever since she lost her Diamond, she’d felt lost. But now here was someone worth following, here was someone that was almost her. Better than her, even...!

       “ you must be steven -- is that right? ” 

ever since she’d returned from space, her parents had been.. much more lax with letting her do what she wanted to do. she’d been millions of light years away, and she’d come back unharmed, after all.. so sleeping over at steven universe’s house wasn’t such a big deal, all things considered. 

blinking her eyes awake, connie only took a moment to realize that it was still pretty dark outside, but slowly, she sat up on the couch, yawning and pushing her blanket off of her body. she pulled herself up onto the second floor, peeking her head over the ledge to look at steven’s bed, wondering if he was still asleep, too. seeing his eyes open, however, she smiled slightly at him, her voice a soft whisper.

“Oh, so you’re Pink Diamond now.  Do you really expect me to believe that?”  Aquamarine replied to the hybrid child, rolling her eyes and laughing.

     a 𝙗𝙧𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 corrupted,       a loss of clarity .     pure unhindered brilliance lost to shades of 𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒌.       she must accept.         she’s  an,       𝑜𝑓𝑓-𝑐𝑜𝑙𝑜𝑢𝑟.      imperfect   /   flawed.       alike,    the others.       the dwindling doubts, discriminations,      linger.        she still see’s the impurities.         the 𝙞𝙣𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙮 tarnishing their forms.       spites of a spectrums ;        where her 𝓅𝓇𝑒𝒸𝒾𝑜𝓊𝓈 gems are lost.        bleeds of warmth,       of pallor ;         disjointed pallets where they are 𝒹𝑒𝒻𝑒𝒸𝓉𝒾𝓋𝑒.        only now,       a radiance  l o s t .         she is among them.        casting a gaze,         the root of spectral radiance.        her dear 𝓼𝓽𝓪𝓻𝓵𝓲𝓰𝓱𝓽.       perhaps ?       not quite,       something else.          some-one else.        yet, the 𝑠𝑎𝑚𝑒.         her largest 𝑖𝑚𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑓𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛.        no matter the form.        this one is,      more so.        yet.      something akin a fondness,       billows a chest.         something fluttering beneath a ribbed cage.            the part of her she always repressed.           so a like her 𝓼𝓽𝓪𝓻𝓵𝓲𝓰𝓱𝓽 ;    so    hopeful,         rebellious,                             caring of even the most listless of life forms.   

     her gems.      her luminous formations.       she was supposed to make them 𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓.       rid them of their impurities.        of their -          𝒷𝓁𝑒𝓂𝒾𝓈𝒽𝑒𝓈.        to help them from their lost paths.        perhaps she was 𝙬𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜.        paths,      merely,     divergent.        her precious facets unblemished,           merely 𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒒𝒖𝒆.  

                                     ‘    perhaps,      you are right starlight.  ’
