Martha took me a bit longer since rose had just left and I wasn’t used to switching companions but once we got to the “BURN WITH ME” episode I was hooked and really really appreciated her. I’m embarrassed at how long it took me to adjust to Martha.

i think the first switch is always the hardest

i took a bit longer to adjust to Martha but i also took a bit longer to adjust to Ten as well

like the first time around i don't think i really felt like Ten was the Doctor until probably around School Reunion sometime? but then going from David to Matt hardly fazed me at all (though i feel Matt had some similar mannerisms to David, particularly earlier on [and they were both just kind of generally energetic] whereas Chris and David were very different)

No but ROA was the episode I fell in love with Clara Before that I was like eh since I was still grieving over the ponds but then at ROA I was all YES present day CLARA I LIKE YOU

ROA is one of my favorite episodes ever it is gorgeous and fantastic and Matt's speech gets me every time

like yeah ok if you wanna get nitpicky the plot is a bit shaky in places but that's like half of DW anyway and it's just such a good episode and the mUSIC

nah man i've seen s1 all the way through probably like 15 times at least it barely fazes me anymore

i agree about the HTR thing. i’ve actually been able to rewatch those episodes because even though i’m sad about the 1 season thing they couldn’t have ended it more perfectly. it wasn’t even supposed to be a finale episode, but it was just so so perf

you know things are bad when an episode of a one-season show that wasn't intended as any sort of finale makes a better finale than a series finale for a show that ran for FIVE YEARS

yeah same. i try not to think about it generally but every so often i get real angry and shouty about it.

EXACTLY. and i can probably tie it in larger ideas of fandom and media too there is nothing bad about this paper i am so excited
