Christian couldn’t believe he’d been so stupid. He’d worn tighter, nicer trousers than usual for a job interview and hadn’t been thinking- he’d sat at the coffeeshop and his wallet must’ve been pushed out of the open pocket. He had enjoyed the interview so much and hoped he’d get it but... now it seemed fate was playing a trick on him.
He walked rather briskly, cane in hand but thankfully he had the energy to not need it too badly today. Christian came into the cafe tiredly after making it nearly back to his apartment, looking for the spot he sat in. He ran a hand through his mussed hair, coming over to a man at the table. “I’m so sorry to bother you, but... I think I misplaced my wallet around here? Should have an ID in it that says ‘Christian’? I had a job interview right in that spot and I think it just slipped right out of my pants.” He laughed, embarrassed but also incredibly nervous it just wasn’t there. He sank into the chair across from the man, suddenly very tired from walking that fast across various blocks.
