last line: i admit a little that i cheated as the last sentence was unfinished when i received the tag but otherwise this is the last thing i wrote, from the long wip third part of ‘the sky full of stars’:

Akk’s hair is much longer now, too, far past the length Suppalo would have allowed and starting to softly frame his face. He’s wearing a low-collared t-shirt explicitly for easier access, and Aye smiles involuntarily to see the silver necklace Akk rarely takes off glinting against his collarbones.

“Shit, N’Aye, take a picture. It’ll last longer,” says Nat, turning away to ready the needle.

and then, for general wip wednesday, have a little more ocean eyes mates dinnerbrunch (brunchinner? dinrunch?)

They’re meeting at their usual diner just after sundown instead of what Sam’s learned is their usual weekend brunch appointment in deference to his, “uh, particular skincare needs”, as Aster had put it over the phone. That makes Kieran’s state basically Sam’s fault, and the guilt curdles unpleasantly in his stomach. “Sorry to keep you out this late.”

At this, Kieran’s head snaps up off the table so he can stare right at Sam. Sam’s met a few Stealths in his time, but none who ever so openly displayed it; Kieran’s golden, slit-pupiled eyes are immediately arresting. “No, absolutely not,” says Kieran. “Do you know how long I’ve been waiting to bother you in person?”
