Due to popular demand, I've created a (hopefully temporary) directory for all the playlists of revealed songs. I'm hoping to have something more put-together in the future, but I didn't want to leave everyone hanging in the meantime :).
Yeah!!!! There are a lot of other villain siffrin aus, but I wanted to have my own take on it! Unfortunately, I don't really think I have enough for this to make a whole story out of it but the idea lives in my head. If anyone wants to adopt this idea I'd be thrilled though! C: it has been left in a wet cardboard box labeled "free stories" and is looking sadly out at the world...born there all alone.
Here, the king and siffrin were friends prior to the king attempting to freeze everyone, and were genuinely very close to each other. In the same way that canon siffrin would probably do anything for their party, this siffrin would do anything for the king. They trust him! They know he's not trying to hurt anyone, he just wants to protect them! The problem is that nobody else understands! Why would anyone want to keep living and changing when things might just get worse, when instead they could be frozen for all eternity. They could be happy and frozen and they're ruining that by panicking.
Mirabelle (along with Isabeau) first meets siffrin while she's trying to obtain the first orb. Siffrin does a little monologue encouraging them to give up on their journey and accept being frozen, and when Mira and Isa refuse, attacks them and drives them away from the orb. He's much stronger than them since he's been fighting all his life and they're new to their journey, so he wins despite both of them being strong against him, but very clearly has no intent of killing them.
They make a plan, return, and get the orb this time. They almost capture siffrin but they're too slippery.
After this, siffrin continues to follow them attempting to steal the orbs. He's not a particularly threatening villain but also not a super silly cartoon one who can be easily shooed away each time. As the group encounters siffrin more and more, they learn more about each other and their motives.
The most concrete idea for a scene I have is siffrin and Mirabelle falling through a hole in an old mansion while both trying to find the orb and ward each other off, at which point they have to work together to escape and Mirabelle tries to talk them out of doing this. Siffrin is adamant that she doesn't understand, that nobody in vaugarde can. Why idolize change so much when changing could mean losing everything. Mirabelle thinks being frozen isnt any better, but siffrin doesn't see it that way.
At some point, siffrin is able to find a way out that crumbles behind them, leaving Mirabelle trapped. They essentially shrug and leave her, at which point Mirabelle curses herself for being naive enough to believe he could be reasoned with. Up until they drop down a rope for her to climb out and disappear again.
Mirabelle and Isabeau have some affection for the strange villain who's definitely making things harder for them, but who doesn't seem to want to bring them any serious harm aside from freezing them all in time and has definitely got some sort of reasoning behind their actions that intrigues them. Odile is less optimistic but unless Siffrin poses a true threat to any of them, he can be allowed to live.
At some point the group encounters Bonnie while siffrin is causing some trouble, at which point siffrin bails because they're not involving a child in this. They're generally quite nice to Bonnie and try their best not to scare them even while still trying to foil their quest.
At some point, siffrin and the saviors are in a frozen city full of Sadnesses fighting over the orb when one of them goes after Bonnie. Siffrin throws himself in the way first and loses his eye, he may be a villain, but he's not about to let an innocent kid die. And the others aren't about to leave him to die either, especially after that, so they tend to him. They're too far away from any non frozen towns to get help, so siffrin is kind of stuck with them while he recovers. And they all get to talk.
While there's already been some signs of siffrin being unsure about the king's actions, this is kind of where it all gets broken down. Bonnie never would've been in danger if not for what siffrin and the king were doing, and siffrin has to seriously confront the real harm the two of them have inflicted on the people of vaugarde. That they're taking away people's homes in the same way their own has been taken. They don't want to keep bringing harm to the people who very clearly do not want any of this. And yet they still care for the king deeply and don't want him to die.
Eventually, by the time siffrin is healed, everyone has convinced him to join as long as Siffrin will get a chance to talk to the king first and see if he can be talked down. Siffrin knows he can't be, but he still owes it to his friend to try.
Isabeau and Mirabelle are both very accepting of siffrin turning over to their side, he's Changed, after all and they'd like to accept that. Mirabelle especially has a somewhat dreamy image of a storybook villain being turned good. And it's not Isabeau's fault that he's into scary siffrin... Not that siffrin is that scary, but still!
Bonnie doesn't have as much baggage as in canon about siffrin protecting them because, well, the sadnesses being around to attack Bonnie in the first place were kind of siffrin's fault, so it doesn't feel as unfair to Bonnie.
Odile doesn't trust siffrin at all to begin with but accepts that having him on their side will give them an advantage. She grows to trust him more as time passes and they continue their journey. I like to think in this version of events siffrin lost their eye a bit earlier on so everyone has time to bond with siffrin as a person.
Siffrin comes to greatly care for the party, but is certain they don't feel the same. Siffrin was their enemy, he'd be foolish to think they'd consider him a friend after everything. No, the king is the only person they could call their friend and here they are, betraying him.
Siffrin really isn't coping well with the prospect of losing both their closest companion and the last remaining link to their home, but keeps it concealed as per usual. They don't really plan on surviving the battle with the king. Or at least not for long afterwards.
Siffrin is able to lead everyone through the house as he already knows all the traps and can make sure everyone is prepared to fight the king, so there's no time loops. Maybe they make a wish, maybe not. Maybe they teach the others how to wish.
Regardless, they all make it to the king, siffrin goes in first to try to talk him down, which predictable fails. The king attacks siffrin but can't bring himself to kill them. He fights the rest of the party as siffrin is too injured to do anything more.
The party wins, the king disappears, siffrin is healed, and all is definitely good and fine, haha. Siffrin will cope sooooo well with watching their closest friend die, knowing all too well that there's nothing left for them here anymore, nowhere to go, nothing to do, nobody left who cares about them...
He just needs to double back for a moment before going back to dormont, he left something up on the roof...very high roof. With a very nice view of the home siffrin can never return to... Them giving their hat away to Bonnie is just a nice gesture because they care about them C: it's fine. This is fine.
But like, maybe Mirabelle should double back too, you know? Just make sure everything's fine. Quell that weird anxiety that still hasn't gone away even with the king defeated... And maybe remember that nifty new shield skill she learned. Might be useful.
Why is 13's regen abt a white dude and why is 15's regen abt a white dude when do we get rid of that white man that just Cannot let other people have their own moments I swear this is so old, like really, it's a tale as old as time where white dudes are the center of the narrative and universe and everyone caters to them, and I'm so bored of it being celebrated. It's not innovative, it's not new, it's not brave.
