#and thin mints

Though maybe he didn’t understand until he tasted it that it was mint, and he was too polite to show his disgust. Or maybe he likes mint ok by itself, just not with chocolate or ice cream. (Drinking minty alcohol sounds more yucky to me, but maybe that’s just because I haven’t tried it, and it makes me think of mouthwash.)

My neighbor Jacqui’s daughter is a Girl Scout currently selling cookies. I bought a couple of boxes. I mentioned this to my neighbor Gordon while we were walking our dogs - Thin Mints, Samoas, DoSiDOs he mused - I’m in.

I contacted Jacqui and picked up Gordon’s cookies. I texted him to find out where he was. He was at the bar down the street. I met him there on my way to dinner to drop them off.

Bar patrons saw the cookies and they wanted some. I contacted Jacqui and another run was made to collect them. One of the buyers was Don, a retired postal worker (and surfer) who is always a golden brown. Nice guy. Thin Mint fan.

I dropped off the cookies, sold the extra boxes Jacqui gave me, then headed out for dinner at a local sushi place. While at dinner my friend Jennifer texted me to find out where I was eating as she and her friend were looking for a place to have dinner. I mentioned the sushi place and invited them to join me. She wasn’t into sushi but asked “Is Tan Don there?”

I shrugged. I was sitting at the bar next to a tan man, so I asked are you Don? No he said, I’m Dan. Oh, I said I’m looking for “Tan Don?” Both the man and the sushi chef Tan Don, say Tan Don from the canyon, whose asking? I say Jennifer, and they both know Tan Don, they both know Jennifer, in fact Dan has asked Jennifer out.

Tan Don’s not here tonight they say... Well, I know that, as I just sold him Girl Scout cookies at the bar.

Yesterday afternoon, I was working when I get a phone call. Hey, says Gordon, I’m down at the bar, we need more cookies. I’ve somehow become the canyon’s cookie mule. Jacqui told me that I’ve sold more cookies than her daughter has.
