And Hermes is a runaway synth courier whose really speedy and who has to use Charon’s boat all the time to deliver goods and mail between settlements. And he’s so head-over-heels for the nice quiet ghoul man but can’t quite process that cause he’s a synth and by all means shouldn’t be able to to fall in love but that’s sure what it feels like and he has no idea what to do with himself about it. It helps that it seems like Charon just tolerates him for the most part, and Hermes buries it in his endless work despite always bringing Charon little gifts and chatting with him as much as he can. 

And Charon’s just very happy to have this guy who can talk to him, and who wants to talk to him, but he’s kind of forgotten how to properly be around people as he’s isolated himself further and further from most human beings, always a little afraid he’ll go feral one day. So he’s definitely feeling something for the fast-talking courier, but he won’t admit it, cause he’s got a case of the no skin and he wouldn’t want Hermes to be freaked out by that or to let someone get too close in case he went feral. But even if he’s trying to ward Hermes off, it never works, and he can’t really stop himself from making sure the spastic idiot eats something or takes a break.
