Recently, I discovered that one of my favorite fics of all time had been deleted from Ao3
Thankfully, I had downloaded the work (you can tell I was absolutely SCRAMBLING to check whether I had- it was actually the first fic I ever downloaded, thank god)
I know works are only on there for you to read for free thanks to authors, who can absolutely delete their fic anytime- But I still feel sad that this fic won't be read by more people.
I hope that author didn't delete their work because of lack of activity (I must say, I considered that work to be severely underrated. Still hope for the best though 💛) BUT if that is why- instances like this are why I always try to leave comments on fics. Tell the author that you read their work, that you liked it, that you're happy they posted it. Leave a line of hearts or random keyboard smashing to show your feelings, I don't know-

Incidentally, that means any kind of art or collection and project that you like, including on tumblr! It is absolutely wild how many likes can be on a post with only one, two, or most of the time, no comments.
