I haven’t written creatively for like a year because apparently the new standard change calls for more focus on boring argumentative writing and essays (which i really am terrible at writing)…so i haven’t written much since 7th grade. Can’t find much of my stories from then, so I’m just going to go from memory here, ( i know ive mentioned some of these before):

EDIT: I FOUND MY WRITING FOLDER FROM ENGLISH CLASS AND I KNOW TWO THINGS: I WAS VERY DAMAGED IN 7th GRADE AND MY HANDWRITING IS VERY ILLEGIBLE - everything i say here is 100% accurate now im rereading everything this is terrible

The Waffle Thief - Mateo, a beloved prince who mysteriously disappeared from the royal family as a baby, is found by an elderly forest hermit named J’zu (a play on jesus im sure). In J’zu’s care, Mateo grows up to be an intelligent and resourceful young man. He makes friends with Darwin, a beautiful unicorn with a stunning hot pink mane (it says, and i quote: “You’re a he!?!?!?” Mateo exclaimed. Darwin snorted a horsey kind of scoff. “Pink’s a guy color, too, bozo. Don’t judge. Besides, the lady unicorns like the shade, so it pays off.”) Turns out, Darwin must complete a quest in order to complete the rite of passage to become an adult. The two friends become very close and learn how to work together to fight and all that idk until one morning their waffles are stolen by a dragon. Realizing that this was their opportunity to complete a quest and get the waffles back, Mateo and Darwin set off on their journey. Along the way, they meet golems, a very large rabbit, a chimera, and finally, the criminal dragon. (the ending was so rushed i remember writing this, the dragon is really just a lonely introvert and they all become friends and live happily ever after this was 6 and a half pages long in dense text but i got an A+ AND A SMILEY FACE HUEHUEHUE what even is this story)

Crouching Kitty, Hidden Fishy -  (i had one day to write this story and it was completely centered around three things: lynxes are rad animals, Belinda is really fun to say, and i wanted to have the title be a play on the movie Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon) A lonely king decides to adopt a lynx kitten to keep him company. The lynx (very thoughtfully named Lynx) grows up, becoming very loyal to the ruler and willing to do anything for him. One day, the king begins to have a relationship with a noble named Belinda. Lynx feels unsettled about it, but loved the king too much to intervene. Eventually, Belinda and the monarch are married, and have a baby together. The king begins to push Lynx out of his life, busy with his wife and child, and the cat begins to be increasingly jealous of Belinda. Turns out Belinda and the young princess, Belle, are witches and are intent on summoning Arkimonde, “fish demon of the seas” to come and lay waste to the kingdom. After a ferocious battle with the merman-demon-thingy, Lynx dies a valiant death. The demon sinks the kingdom and this results in the creation of the city of atlantis apparently

Birds of a Feather Die Together - i was very bitter and salty about the forced thanksgiving theme of this story because it was november and mrs.swenson insisted so this was the resulting product: Tommy and Charles, two turkeys who are the bestest of besties, are living a happy life on a farm until thanksgiving season comes around. they learn of their inevitable fate as the farm animals are slaughtered one by one. charles selflessly plans to save tommy from becoming turkey dinner no matter the cost, but fails. the last line: “Tommy’s body on the table and the thought that all his work was for naught were the last things Charles knew before the farmer’s hands closed around his throat and all was black.”

what was my damage in 7th grade seriously this turkey literally just witnessed the death of his best friend, who didn’t even have to die because turns out he was a d u c k i don’t even understand my own story

Devil’s Daughter - this was part of a program where the class could get the book “published” so i literally have a hardback picture book copy of this, with my own illustrations and everything

i hate it

Kiara has lived a hard life, motherless and having to work tirelessly since childhood to sustain her distant, ill, and aging father as well as herself. One day, while foraging for the night’s dinner, she stumbles upon an extravagant sword (it’s really ugly) encased in a boulder. Pulling the weapon out, she is knocked unconscious. When she awakens, the house is on fire, and a dragon is setting the surrounding area ablaze. She struggles to save her helpless father, but she is too late. Grief-stricken but determined, she avenges his death by slaying the beast. Unsure of what to do next, she wanders the forest and takes shelter at a friendly dude’s cottage. The dude, named Hunter, is pretty smart and hears about Kiara’s dad. Her father’s name, when rearranged, spells out the name of the devil (in that world, at least). He was possessed by the devil???? and that’s why he was so ill so now kiara and hunter go hunt down the demon guy so she can have her just revenge. after travelling for like a week or something and fighting countless monsters as well as visiting many different locations, the finally end up at the devil’s lair and ofc kiara fights him and wins….the world is free from his oppressive rule. i have no idea what i was thinking honestly

there were two others: one with some kind of prophecy and a talking tomatio and another that was a sandra-style retelling of puss in boots but i cant find them whups might add later

here i would like to formally apologize to mrs. swenson, my english teacher, for putting up with this and actually reading whatever this is^^^

i have the full text of all of these if anyone’s interested and bored enough to see what twisted things go on in 13 year olds’ minds nowadays
