aw, thanks! that's sweet of you to say!!!! not sure exactly how to answer this tbh, but i think my answer is just to not be shy about engaging with content you like.
i'm a content creator (i write fic and make mods) so that definitely helps, and i'm active in a lot of discords of varying sizes which also i think is a big part of it, but really it just comes down to a) being nice and b) not being shy about expressing enthusiasm for other people's stuff.
if you like something, whether it's art or fic or even just a good meta post, reblog it and interact with the person who made it!!!! i've made most of my fandom friends this way, either bc i slid into their dms or left one million comments on their fics bc i was a fan of their work or vice versa and often times that leads to a discord invite or starting an ongoing conversation and then boom, you made a friend.
btw if you don't see me sending any of those nice chain ask things i just get weird anxiety around sending them. i love to receive them bc it makes me feel im loved and remembered by people and not left out, i just get so anxious about sending them bc I stress about leaving people out etc and what if people don't want it.
As several people have ragged on me in the past about "why them and not me" and just. anxiety.
