She was incredibly rude to me even though I was obviously injured.

Finished reading Song of Achilles.
Mixed feelings, mainly because all I expected was, um, a tiktokified lighhearted gay romance (I picked it from a "book-tok" shelf from a bookstore after seeing gay people gush over it) and, um. Well. The first half was that. The second half was very much not.
And I guess you'd expect me to be familiar enough with the Iliad to know what goes down, but I'm not!! I did not know what would happen!! I was expecting two things: Achilles heel and the Troyan horse. But the heel was written off with an em dash (paris: "I heard he's invulnerable, except for --") and the horse was a third of a sentence. Hilarious in hindsight.
Just goes to show how expectations warp the reading experience, I guess.
