HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIZ !!!!! Here’s to getting to be as old as I am ( which -- makes things even more confusing -- same name, same age -- this is getting to be ridiculous already please stop ??? ). I just wanted to take a moment to celebrate you -- because you’re ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. I am so incredibly lucky to have a friend like you & I can’t believe we’ve known each other for basically two years now -- time flies. You’re one of my favorite writing partners -- & one of my favorite people -- & you deserve only good things -- so HAPPY FREAKIN’ BIRTHDAY !! I hope you have the best day ever. 

      She inspects his latest ARTS & CRAFTS creation carefully -- unable to discern EXACTLY what it is. “I give up,” she laughs, a bright smile flashed in his direction, “I need a hint at least.” 

[  text  :  scott  👫  🐶  🍟  ]  :  i think you deserve better than brooke. someone who puts you second is an IDIOT, okay? you’re the best guy i know & i’ve been trying to keep quiet about how i feel but watching her hurt you again & again & again is NOT OKAY. one day you’re gonna find someone who deserves all the love you have to give. brooke isn’t that someone. 

    She’s been told not to cry over SPILT MILK -- but crying over the lack of MOZZARELLA STICKS is something she’s never been forewarned about. It’s not really about that though -- it was simply the tip of the iceberg. Her day had been shitty from start to finish -- having to hear Brooke spill all the dirty details about her latest encounter with her best friend in the MIDDLE of the hall between second & third period -- & then the fight with her boyfriend at lunch, all because Scott had saved only one seat at his table ( meant for HER ).      Walking in the front door, she’s SURPRISED to see Scott’s backpack sitting on the floor by the entryway -- even more shocked to see him pulling a tray out of the oven.                     “ ----- when did you get here ??”

        Without warning she presses her HAND over his mouth -- waiting only until she’s CERTAIN that the floorboard outside her door, in fact, WASN’T creaking & the noise she heard was simply the product of paranoia.       “You need to be QUIET,” she whispers, a giggle falling from her lips, “my dad would KILL YOU if he knew you were here.”
