New release, new artists... Even if Anaxander has now been around for a while, we thought it would not be a bad idea if we could find out a little more about this mysterious guy (yes, “Ana” is not a female!)

-First of all, please introduce yourself…

Hello there, the name is Anaxander, I am originally from Lille, North of France, but I live in the South now.

-How did you get into music production and/or deejaying?

I became passionate about music production and deejaying when I used to work in a record store (”Music Line”, in Lille) back in 1994. That’s when I also started to collect records. Couple of years later, I bought myself a few machines...

-What is your home-studio like? Hardware, software?

I'm used to jam on a hardware set-up and record the result on a D.A.W. I love to work on an army of old and new synths but my favorite gear is still the MPC 1000.

-What is the best party you’ve ever been to? Who was deejaying?

Ron Trent played in Marseille this summer; it was a very good party. Apart from that, I must admit I am no longer a party-animal... Between 89 and 94, I was going out as much as I could, especially in Belgium. And as Jemaho also says: “the 55 in Kuurne used to be my favorite place”.

-Apart from music, what are you into?

I am into sciences and movies, mostly. In terms of work, I am a professional voice over and I also do a few other jobs in the cinema industry on a regular basis. I also host a monthly show on Radio CCR, but it’s all about gears and house-music!

-If you had a time-traveling machine, where and when would you go?

Prohibition time, USA, so I could be able to watch and listen to the jazz divas such as Billie Holiday.

-The NASA is sending you to the international space station for a month, you are allowed to bring only one CD…What would you burn on this disc?

Impossible! I would try everything I could to get the head of the NASA fired and make sure this stupid rule is abandoned... it's too cruel!

-What’s next for ANAXANDER?

I got a few tracks and a split EP scheduled for later this year and I still need to fulfill a few requests... Don’t know why but i am very slow these days!
