My sparkling gourami 💖 The LFS only had one left but as soon as they get their next shipment I'm grabbing at least two more of these tiny beauties! I'm in love already, and I'd love to hear them croak!

To say that Coral is getting old would be a bit of an understatement, I think. She spends most of her time sleeping these days. Not sure what I’ll do when she’s gone, might turn the tank into a breeding setup for the half dozen Stone Cats living in there. I’d love to do a nano reef but I’d only really be interested in stony corals and maybe a small tridacna so I’m not sure how realistic that is for a nano.
Betta and Dwarf Gourami?
I’m still dumb as shit when it comes to my fish and seeing mixed reviews on this isn’t teaching me anything.
I’ve seen people say go for it, absolutely not, and you can try it out. I saw a video of a heavily planted with one betta and one honey gourami and aside from the shyness of the gourami, both looked healthy and full colored.
I’m in a position where I am willing to try a young honey gourami in my 29 and if I see aggression I can return it the same day. I am getting more plants for the tank to fill up any gaps, so it may disrupt my betta’s territory just enough. I’m not entirely sure how established his “crib” is.
So far my betta has shown no aggression toward the other fish including a couple of platys and female guppies.
There’s just so many mixed experiences out there that I’m really tempted to test it out.
I am fully able to return the honey gourami same day as adding it. I just want some solid answers from the anabantoid community. Also be aware that I’m still new to fish. I’ve only had a tank set up for a year and I’ve been learning more as I go along. Friendly advice is much appreciated.
The LFS only had one so I'm gonna go back for more next week, but I finally got one of these sweet lil sparkling gouramis and I love her!!
Finally got around to redoing the betta tank. It had devolved into just a hideous tangle of hygrophila with a few pieces of wood so I just ripped it apart and started from scratch. The only carryovers are the pieces of spiderwood (which I may still toss, not sure if I like them in there) and that one larger Anubias in back.
The school of ancient Harlequin Rasboras finally died off, and Coral looks like she probably isn’t far behind. Not sure where I’ll go after that, we’ll see. Scarlet Badis and/or Sparkling Gouramis, maybe.

Before/after/after my 15 gallon acrylic paradise fish tank. Had a really bad black beard algae problem for awhile, now it’s slightly less bad

Some Parosphromenus quidecim have just come up for sale and I desperately want a pair - they’re my favourite of all the liquorice gouramis, virtually never available and critically endangered. Gonna see if I can shuffle some tanks around...
