Inspired by street art, couture fashion, and photography, New Jersey native Amy Smith, now living in Los Angeles says she designs in collections,  each style reflecting those wide ranging inspirations. Her collections include fashion illustration, acrylic painting, digital painting, and mixed media collage. Perhaps best known on the walls of LA galleries for her dramatic combination of stencil and collage, in 2017 Smith dropped the collage component for her first mural, created off of Dillon St near Beverly Blvd for the Gabba Gallery Alley Project. Recalling the paper doll cutouts often created by young girls, Smith said she wanted to use those figures for this mural as a metaphor for connection, and chose the ballerina figure “as a statement on how women balance both being strong and graceful.”  @artbycolorscape
