dear boy,
it’s funny to me how you say one thing and do another. i am not mad, annoyed, irritated, just sad. it saddens me that i thought you had the ability to change, the ability to be a caring, thoughtful guy. instead you’ve resorted back to your old ways. the ones that leave you stuck in this dark circle of comfort. the ones that prevent you from seeing the light and possibilities. the ones you think you deserve. you are trapped in this darkness, but you don’t realize, because it is all that you are used to. it saddens me that you are stuck there, but i did my part. i tried to be your guiding light. i tried to pull you out of that abyss. you told me once that you were changing your ways because of me, i thought it was progress. i was wrong. i just think the darkness is too strong for you right now. i just want you to know that if you ever escape it, i will be waiting. there will be sparks of electricity flying, the streetlights will be beaming, the sun will be the brightest it’s ever been. you will see the world in a whole new light. i hope you reach the light one day. it just saddens me though, to think you may never see it. it saddens me, that you’ve tried to keep me from seeing it.

Here are some photos I took of the old LA zoo in Griffith park, the place has tons of graffiti art and cramped cages and a couple ruined buildings. You can see the conditions that animals were subjected to and how far zoo standards have come. It’s enjoyable to hike around and it’s definitely worth checking out if you like creepy or abandoned areas. The zoo was built in 1912 as a WPA project and remained open till 1966 after the current LA zoo was built two miles away.
